Thunderhawk Skid Questions

So this is kind of a question for anyone that has gone aftermarket, retained the stock skid, and/or added the Thunderhawk Skid-Max.

Do stock skid plates cover significantly less than their aftermarket counter parts?
Does the addition of the Thunderhawk Skid-Max negate the need for an aftermarket chassis skid? E.g. are the factory skid plates strong enough when supported by the Skid-Max? I understand the a-arms are a different discussion.

As I understand it UMHW is the way to go as opposed to a full aluminum skid. I’m all for doing things "right" but I’d be hard pressed to drop $5-600 if the Thunderhawk Skid-Max does a good job of negating the need for a full aftermarket skid.

Thanks for your help guys,
Shawn

Drivebelt SNAFU…FYI

My 900s had 230 miles when I took it in for the initial service. I told the service manager that it is always jerky when I back it out of the garage and still jerky when I take of slowly in low. Soon the jerkiness stops. The mechanic called and said the belt has a "hot spot" and needs to be replaced. They would not warranty the belt so I had them install the new Gates belt (from Hunterworks) that I had on hand. When I went to get the Razor I bitched to my salesman about the bad Polaris belt. He and I went to the service manager and looked at the belt they took off. It appeared perfect to us! (I kept it as a backup). They then test drove my Razor and noted the Gates belt was less jerky. Then they test drove a new 900s with 2 miles on it and noted it was jerky like mine was before the belt change! They decided the "jerkiness" is a characteristic of the new 900s!! I paid for nothing but the filter and fluids. This is FYI.

Source for curved brackets?

I finished up my cage and when I mounted the lightbar using the flag-mount type of cage mount, the 90* angle of the bracket causes the back of the light to rest on the header bar of the cage. Looking for a bracket that is curved so I can get the light off the cage. I know I could probably make one but if I can find a couple for a few dollars, that would be even better.
