Just checked and greased my a arms, especially rear-are loose as hell. The ones at the rear hubs too. 387 miles, 6 months old-thats it. Why? Called the dealer, 9 days out of warranty but the dealer said they wouldnt cover them anyways even if it was still in. Wear item so says Polaris. What is an aftermarket option? Maybe something with needle bearings? Bronze? This is ridiculous, heard a rubbing noise too coming from the driveshaft. Turns out the non greaseable pillow block that the driveshaft rides on towards the front under the belly pan is dry. I hosed it down with fluid film, best I could think of and the noise went away. Not happy. Also the rear suspension seems to sag quite a bit, I jacked it up seemed like a foot before the wheels came off the ground. Do I crank down on the spring to cure this or mess with the hard/soft screw?
I was wondering how much is to much for the alternators to handel on our 900s. The dealer couldn’t give me and answer and I know some guys out there really load these up. Im just wondering if I have to much on mine. Have a 24in double row led bar in front. Winch, radio and two 6led cubes in the back. I don’t run everything at once but over time am I gonna end up hurting the charging system if I run the light bar and radio at the same time? Or the light bar and the winch? Just curious.
I have a 2015 900s with about 100 miles. When going down a hill, just as the cvt is disengaging I hear a moderately loud clapping/slapping sound coming from the cvt. I took it to dealer who told me they couldn’t duplicate sound. After searching this forum I found a couple others mention belt slap. I called dealer and they actually took the rzr back into the garage and worked again on it. The tech personally called me. He said he’s not heard of belt slap but when he pulled the cover he did indeed find indications that the belt was rubbing the top of the cover. He claimed it was minor and didn’t suggest any repair. He said there was no damage to the cover or belt, just signs that the dust was rubbed off the cover. He also compared the belt to a new Polaris belt and they were identical lengths.
I know that some will say, "just don’t let the cvt disengage by blipping the throttle". I’m not thrilled about that since I lend out my rzr to friends often (don’t judge me on this, I’m a sharing guy) and much of the rest of the time it’s just my 12 year old daughter cruising around the yard. I feel like it’s not a concession I should have to make on a $15k machine nor do I feel like educating anyone riding it on how to keep the cvt from disengaging.
Do note that my 100 miles are all riding around on non difficult terrain at low speeds in high gear.
My questions are these
1. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
2. Is it reasonable to just "let it go" like my dealer suggests?
Anyone worn out their steering rack yet? I think mine is shot (sloppy, popping when turning) and I’m trying to figure out whether I should just warranty it or get a Rackboss from Super ATV and be done with it.
I went out to my farm to pick up my 2015 rzrs 900 EPS so I could do some fabrication on it over the holidays, went to start it and the battery was stone dead. It wasn’t parked near power so I couldn’t put a battery tender on it, but it has only been sitting for 2 weeks. That being said… it has been as low as -20C at night.
Towed it into the shop overnight to thaw out with a charger on it and the next morning in fired right up. I let it warm up to operating temperature, loaded it on the trailer and took it home. When I shut it off once it was on the trailer there was still an electric motor type sound or a whistle type sound coming from the engine bay area. Sounded like the fuel pump but it definitely wasn’t the fuel pump.
When I got home, went to fire it up and it was stone dead again. Wouldn’t even power the power steering. Anyone have any ideas what would kill the battery so quickly?
I read somewhere that the 900s uses the same caliper as the 1000, but uses a smaller rotor. What are the chances that a 1000xp caliper bracket will allow you to use the larger rotors? Are the knuckles similar at all? I’d like a brake upgrade now that I am running 30s.
