Redneck air filtration

I tried this for the first time the other day to see if I could pre-filter the air before it gets to the actual air filter. My goal was to do it inside the air box, where it was easily accessible without having to take other parts of the machine apart.
I had this packing material laying around, I cut it so it was a tight fit and stuffed it between the intake and filter.
It was a moderately dusty 8 hr ride overall. I could not believe the amount of dust inside the air box.
The packing created clouds of dust when banged together after removing them. However you can see it did not stop the dust from getting to the air filter, nor did I expect it too. I would like to find some material with a tighter weave, it might work a little better. I took it out rinsed it, let dry and reinstalled.
The oem filter was still dirty. The engine intake tube was clean.
I am not sure this is the ultimate fix, however it obviously helped filter the air.

Extra fuel options…

Hello guys!

I am looking into options here. I have had the Kolpin and no thanks… I have used the RotoPax and these are same size and style but seem not to leak.
Considered a simple fuel can.

First things first… This thing carries ALLOT OF FUEL! Will I even require extra fuel??

What kind of range are you guys getting from a full tank?

I used to figure 10MPG with my old 700 Sportsman and never ran out, but I carried 3-4 additional. Couple times I refilled but truthfully probably could have done without it. A average day for us is probably 50-60 miles. But occasionally we will do 80-90.

What do you use?

Thanks guys!

Front swaybar removal ?

Anyone remove there front sway bar yet? Good know good? Sick of hearing that peice of crap knocking around . Shocks are maxed causing it to loosen up full drop. I know the S has no front swaybar so it can’t be that bad without it . I’m doing my the SATV conversion soon anyhow .

RZR 900 Trail 50 EPS to XC conversion

Good morning
My wife & I are 70 years old & prefer gentle rides
Recently we rode from Lake Pleasant to Crown king Arizona with some friends
They both had the RZR S with the 60" wheel base & they appeared to ride much better than our trail 50
However I am told the S’s do not have EBS & that is a must for us.
Checked on upgrading to a RZR 1000 & then upgrading the cutch to EBS
Dealer said it would ride much better however there a $9k difference if I trade ours in & still have to upgrade the driven & drive clutches to get EBS.
Checked on the 900 XC model but still expensive
Want to retain the front sway bar also
Every upgrade kit I see eliminates the front roll bar
It appears that the 5" additional width of the XC is only wheels & tires
Thinking of trying this option
Has anyone upgraded a trail 50 to the XC wheels, tires & suspension upgrades?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Super ATV 10″ lift on 50″ Trail model

I recently purchased the 7-10" lift kit from Super ATV. I had heard rumors throughout the internet that Super ATV’s durability was suspect. Anyone who follows my social media knows I’m hard on every machine I purchase. I test the limits of the machine and go beyond them. First thing I noticed right out of the box was the design and size of the a-arms. There was no way I was going to damage this kit without driving it off a serious cliff. After seeing this kit I’m surprised the stock tin foil help up at all. The fitment was great and the directions were clear and precise. After finished up the install I immediately noticed the angles on the axles were not extreme at all even for being a 10" lift. The 73" width helps ease the angle and stress on the axles. The 50" sway bar no longer fits so I am not running one. With the two sway bars removed I tested the handling on the street. I can tell you I will still be able to drift no problem. It actually handles better than the much narrower 50" with two sway bars. Now was the time to take this new beast to our testing grounds. I threw this kit a beating. I rode through deep creeks and mud. The performance was awesome right out of the box. I will go back and play around with the fully adjustable Phantom Shocks next ride. I bounced off a few trees, roots and ruts pretty hard and this kit didn’t quit. Absolutely no damage or bending of any kind. I went to the 2nd worst mud pit we have. No RZR 1000, 900 or ATV has made it through. Riding on only 3 tires since I punched a 1" hole in my wheel in the creek. The 4th tire was wobbling around on the broken wheel and off the bead. I was determined to test this kit so I rode on. The Super ATV kit marched right through a mud pit that has not been conquered by any other machine. I was super impressed at this point. I had to push it harder. I went to the worst mud pit we had available. Its more like a sink hole. I went in and couldn’t make my way out. This is where the durability test comes in. I rode back and forth trying to free the RZR. There was no hope. My winch cable broke, three 850’s couldn’t pull me free and a lifted jeep couldn’t save me. We eventually got an excavator out in the trails to rescue the buried machine. Even after all the tugging and winching on different parts the Super ATV kit held strong! I am super impressed with this kit and all the previous accusations I have read from people are false from what I have seen. Watch my videos from this summer and you’ll see what this kit can do. Don’t forget, Super ATV has a awesome customer service team and lifetime warranty on their a-arms. You can’t beat that. Here is a video of my first test and some photos as well. Stayed tuned as the testing will continue!!!

RZR4 belt cover

I saw this on the 900s section but can’t find the link to it now. The rzr4 uses a different outside belt cover that has an extra breather hose and polaris claims it leads to a reduction in belt temperature of 40%. I think the whole kit is just over $100. I think this would be a good mod to put on ours and would be surprised if it is not standard on all the 2016 900 models.

CB Radio’s

Has any one mounted one in a RZR?

I have one of those "headless" units where all controls is on the mike back form my Jeep days. I think it might be perfect for the RZR. We have been using FRS and they work well enough but they are hand held and a lil bit of a PIA. Especially if you have a father like mine who likes to clip them to his shirt or in jacket pocket and looses three in the last two years… :rm_thumbdown::rm_thumbdown:

I am a bit concerned about the whip antenna… I remember those long ones where near dangerous on the jeep in the rocks whipping back and fourth with bystanders all around. Not exactly the same with the atvs as we don’t have the by standers and don’t have quite that difficult obstacles. But…

Clutch noise?

Took my 2015 RZR 900 Trail out for its maiden trip this past weekend.

I took it easy, breaking it in and such, but couldn’t help but notice a noise and vibration at middle RPMs that felt and sounded just like a tire rubbing.

The machine is stock, and it didn’t matter what surface I was riding on.

Could this be the noisy clutch issue that I see mentioned on here?
