I purchased a 900 Trail Base model couple months ago (my first machine). Finally looking to upgrade the shoes. Looking at Bighorns 26" or 27" (original, not 2.0), probably 9" in front and 12" in rear on 12 inch rims.
I’m looking for a little extra clearance, width, traction and durability in tires. But I’m also looking for a smoother ride before investing big $ into new shocks. Lots of rocky trails here in western PA.
For anyone who has replaced the stocks with Bighorns, I’m curious how much difference the Bighorns were over the stock PXT’s as far as ride comfort, etc. Also curious on actual tire height (loaded), PSI you are running, rim size, etc. I’m thinking that 27" will give a smoother ride, just not sure I want to go that big with the tires, add that much weight etc. Would rather not do clutch mods and its already a little tough for the wife to steer as is.
And the 50 inch clearance isn’t an issue for me – actually prefer a little wider to increase stability a bit.

Anyone know if there are nets for doors to prevent someone from sticking our arm out to break your fall, thus preventing serious injury to elbows!(open fracture dislocation)!!
I got a new gates belt for my trail i saw where people said to soak it in dawn and water then let dry before installing it. has anyone done this and what are the pros and cons.
Just picked up a new RZR 900 Trail Black Pearl. I had a RZR 800 before and found that I bottomed out a lot in the rougher section of the trail we ride. I upgraded to the Polaris Aluminum skid on the RZR 800 and was pretty happy with it.
I was thinking of ordering a Polaris UHMW skid plate from my dealer, but had a few questions before I order:
– Did Polaris upgrade the stock skid with these new models? Is it sufficient for the occasional bottom out when trail riding, or should I be purchasing an upgraded skid as planned?
– I’m in Canada, so ordering from Factory UTV or one of the other forum sponsors seems like it’s going to be tough. Is the Polaris skid (part number 2880290) good, or should I be trying to figure out how to get the Factory UTV or other skid to Canada?
ok sowhile riding in the woods I hit my A-arm on a tree that was cut down and it stopped the machine and broke the weld where the A-arm connects to the frame. Can anyone tell me a place to get just the A-arms that raise in the middle? I have seen sites selling them but they either don’t have them for the 900 or they sell a whole kit which I don’t want. Any help is appreciated.
I had a Plow plate installed on my Rzr now I am having a problem finding a front Brush Guard that will work with my Rzr. Does anyone have any suggestions?
