Need Help With Purchase

We have been looking to get into a used RZR for some time. I finally found one with all the features we are looking for and then some at an amazing price! However, it has very high miles!
This is from a dealer that is well respected in our area- he states purchased new from him by senior couple who rides our extensive rail bed trail system nearly every day. The couple simply upgraded to a new RZR 900 this year (and added the expensive extras to the new one). He has even offered to introduce me to couple…
So is this too good to be true?
-$8000
-RZR 800 EPS
-full Rangerware cab with heater
-winch
-camoplast Tatou 4s tracks included
-brush guards
*-BUT HAS 9,000 miles

800 rzr feeling slow

Hey guys new to the forum. I have a 2009 rzr 800. I just rebuilt the motor about 150 miles ago with 12.1 compression pistons. Everything else is stock ive noticed the last few weeks it feeling a little slugish but my buddy just bought a used 570 and we lined them up to race andhe outrun me by atleast 30-40 feet does that sound right? Both have stock tires his is completely stock. I know the 570s are auick but I didnt think id get outrun by that much atleast
Thanks in advance for any input dustyn

New Rzr owner looking for some tips.

I just picked up an 08 Rzr with a 2" lift and wheel spacers. I’ve been reading up on this bike for weeks and want to make sure I have everything I need to look at covered. Here’s what I’ve got so far.
1. Add thread locker or weld pinion nut on rear end.
2. Solid motor mounts ( my motor is very sloppy).
3. Already checked air intake system but want to replace with something better.
4. Remove spacer on primary clutch.
5. Rzr S header and mid pipe, mine was cracked all over. Welded it up but don’t think it will last.
6. New tires, think bighorns will work for me mostly hunting and trail riding very little mud.

That’s a start. Does the 08 have the plastic carrier in the front dif? What am I missing? I want this thing to last a while, it has 1900 miles on it and it’s in pretty good shape. It runs good now but I didn’t get much history on the bike as the guy got it in on a trade. Anything else you veterans can think of that may need attention? Thanks, Carl.

Bad battery or current draw?

Strange thing happened to me this weekend… first off, I’ve had my RZR for about 3 months now, and I don’t know how old the battery in it is. It could very well need replacing. It has never given me any trouble though, and it has sat 3-4 weeks at a time with no problems cranking. That said, I went to crank it yesterday and it was dead as a doorknob. Fuel pump wouldn’t even turn on or any lights on the speedometer. Kind of odd to me because I had just used it a bout a week and a half ago and it started just fine. So I tried to jump it off and it jumped right off, but as soon as I’d remove the cables, it would die. So I figured the connections probably needed cleaning and took everything loose and cleaned it all up. While I did that, I checked the battery and it only registered about 7.5v. So then I thought well maybe battery’s just toast. Well I hooked everything back up and put my meter on again just to be sure and I noticed voltage drop. It would drop .01v about every 2-3 seconds with key switched off. I went ahead and fully charged the battery and cranked it again and it kept running on its own. I let it idle for a few minutes to try and keep the battery charging and it sat there and ran fine. So I went to move it around the house and i made about halfway and it started to spit and sputter, so I stopped and was going to turn around and take it back and it died right there and wouldn’t crank again. Battery dead that quick.

So does this sound like the battery is just shot? Or is that too much of a power draw somewhere? Or maybe a problem with my stator? I forgot to check the voltage while it was running. It was just odd that it has done fine as long as I’ve had it, and did fine just a week ago and now all of a sudden it’s dead. And when I used it a week ago all I did was move a trailer around in the yard and park it. Ran it for maybe 10-15 mins just around the yard so I don’t think anything could have happened between then and now. Any ideas before I drop the money on a battery?
