I’m looking to get a slip on big gun exhaust for my 2012 rzr 800 I was wonder if you have to mess with programing or anything by putting the exhaust on or just put it on and go ride?

Just finished going through my new to me 2011. My only complaint about how it runs is just off idle. Only noticeable in low or reverse, especially if the engine is cold. Backing out of the garage or putsing around the yard. It seams to hesitate or slightly stumble just off idle. It idles perfect and has smooth power once you get going. Has a small pop or minor backfire once in a while. Like a sputter. Maybe a lean or rich problem? Just changed plugs, cleaned intake and tmap, fresh fuel with treatment. Definitely runs better, but not perfect off idle. Checked for exhaust leak but don’t see any. Suggestions please. Hope it’s not TPS. I am not good with electrical. Not great with mechanical either.ha ha, but I’m learning.

I searched and read most of the posts about engine noise, loss of power, and backfiring. After we bought used 2013 Rzr 4 800 and was out for first ride, we noticed it was losing power. We initially thought bad gas, but I had also filled up our truck and was having no problems. Once we got home, I noticed a tinking sound from the engine area. After reading and searching the forums, I started taking the Rzr apart. I changed the oil filter and added 2 quarts of oil, but the noise is still there. The filter and compartment were recently cleaned prior to purchasing. I changed the spark plugs, no change in noise. I removed the spark arrestor and didn’t notice any change in engine noise, cleaned it and re-installed it. I took the valve spring header cover off and didn’t notice anything obvious. Rockers had good bearings, no excess play, the rods looked strait, springs in good shape, and there was some good new oil.

I’m not sure what to check now (may have hit my engine knowledge too) and I don’t want to take to shop and tell them I don’t know what is wrong and get a huge bill as they troubleshoot everything…

I recently bought a used 2010 rzr 800 with only 140 hours on it. It noticed the fan isn’t kicking on and the hot light came on, so I unplugged the fan and hooked a hot wire to the battery and it still didn’t come on. How common is it for these fans to go out? I’m guessing I need to replace the fan but I figured I would ask here before I bought it.
