Sell before new Yamaha SXS comes out?

I bought the RZR 4 900 in April, before I knew Yamaha was coming out with
a competitive sport unit in Sept. I cant decide whether to sell now, or wait a year and buy the 2nd year of the Yamaha unit. seems like I will take a pretty good monetary loss either way…. thoughts?

Also if the Yammie has a normal non-rubberband tranny. and the front diff doesn’t sound like it’s going to grenade at any moment… it will be harder to wait a year. ha-ha.

Installing windshield wiper kit in RZR900-4 or RZR1000

I installed the new wiper kit item# 2879526 (WINDSHIELD WIPER-WASHER KIT). I originally took it to the dealer to install it, but they said they could not install it as it was impossible to install this kit with the heater kit already installed. I was determined to install it, so I started to look into it. After reading online no one has installed this kit with the heater already installed.

So after getting started, I figured out 2 modifications to make it work:

1. Switch the radiator storage tank with the wiper fluid kit

2. Cut the wiper motor bracket off near the middle bolt area.

Other than that it works great!

I have made a "how to video" on YouTube.

What are good rear spare tire mounts?

Hey RZR 4 900 owners,
I really want to get a rear tire mount for my 2015 RZR in case one of my Mongrels goes out on me in the trails. Any recommendations on reasonable price mounts that look good? I like the angled rear tire look as it will fit better while loaded in the trailer… I have the stock Polaris 1.75" roll cage.

I have read that the Polaris mount rattles like crazy – would like to try and avoid any rattle > OCD = me

Any help and pictures is much appreciated!

Thanks.

Shock/Spring Adjustment

I’ve got a little over 300 miles on my car now and am ready to start tinkering with the stock setup. Right now everything is factory. What have you guys been running? What do I need I need to be thinking about when adjusting the springs? If I dial down that should raise the machine but that also would change the axel angle. How much it too much? They have a bunch of adjustment but how does that affect reliability? I don’t plan to mod the suspension but want to dial it in if there is a better setup. Tons to think about here.

I’m mainly trail riding with some intermediate rock crawling and climbing in mountains.

First Ride Evaluation pros/cons

I originally bought a Polaris rzr 800 4 seater new in 2010 and recently sold it. It had over 4500 miles and wad 5 1/2 years old. So here goes the comparison. I’m the proud owner of a 2015 Polaris rzr 900 4 seater. Bought full glass window and aluminum roof. First ride went 62 miles and this is what I noticed.

Pros- it’s has incredible speed over the 800, did not max out on first ride.
Shocks are stiff. Fix adjust 20 clicks out much softer now.
Seats are great, good support for back and they soak up the small rocks.
Engine sound is awesome
Full windshield allows full view..which is a plus.
Power steering is excellent.. can be a little squirrelly as u have twice as much power over the 800 4 seater 75 hp. Just ease on the gas.
Cornering was great. Rear A-Arm held it steady even when doing donuts in the dirt.
Ground clearance is great never hit a rock yet..lol
You never feel that it’s going to tip. Due to factory sway bar.
Love the deep glove box.

Cons- front differential makes noise. Apparently there has been some good fixes to this on forum. Thicker oil and 2 washer under rear of front diff. Have yet to try this.
Air cleaner change. Pits cause u have to remove stock box each time u check or change air cleaner.
Shifter into gears– you have to make sure it’s in gear. There is shift slack and the instrument says it’s in drive but it’s actually in between gears. This may be me ad I’m just getting use to it. No noted problems just make sure it’s in gear before u floor it.

Bottom line is it is the best machine I’ve driven. It handles better than the 2 seater 1000. And it is perfect for tighter trails and roads. I say buy it over the 1000 4 seater cause the 1000 is too long and it would not fit on my trailer. Hope this help new buyers out. Buy the 4 seater Rzr 900 . You will be very happy with it!!!
