Ricochet Off-Road Skid Plate Set and A-Arm & CV Boot Guards Review

First I want to say great customer service, this was a big purchase and when you offered that big 20% discount for July 4th I just couldn’t pass it up. I had looked at 3 different kits over the past few weeks and I think I chose the right one!

I order the following

1x 4-Piece A-Arm & CV Boot Guards, Polaris RZR-S 900 & RZR-4 900 – Red Anodize (sku: 798A-RED)

1x 5-Piece Full Frame Skid Plate Set, Polaris RZR-4 900 – Full 1/2" UHMW (sku: 907-U)

I had a few issues and for the money some of the pieces (I think) should have fit a little better. I had to modify a few items and below I have posted pictures and what I did.

The skid
1) The kit was labeled out well and all parts needed came with it (no missing bolts lol)
2) All the bags had been marked for each piece so instructions were almost not needed.
3) One section (2 small holes) asked to be drilled, I opted not to and taped them instead
4) I did not have to drill out a bunch of holes and tap them like allot of the kits, the over the bar clamp and bolts design was fantastic.
5) The access holes for the oil and other fluids were plenty big so no modification needed.

The A-Arm guards
1) Looks – AWSOME!!
2) Install, again was all labeled and very easy to install
3) Had a few issues and I outlined them in the photos
– Driver front (minor adjustments) ok
– Passenger front had to be bent in some (see photo)
– Driver rear flawless no issues
– Passenger rear had hole alignment issues (easy fix but was upset 🙁 to have to drill my new red guard…..

Overall I would recommend this kit to anybody and I am so glad I went with the 1/2", it was super light weight and I’m good to go on the belly.

Time wise took my father and I half a day, but I cleaned the belly and we did grease certs and a few other odd and ins while the belly was open.

Ricochet, I tip my hat to you gentlemen and thanks for a great product.

2015 4 900 Polaris Aluminum Doors, need info

Trying to decide if these are the doors I want. On the Polaris Website it says these are the Aluminum Lower Half doors. To me this means they are just that, only the lower half door that attaches to the factory door.

Polaris Item #2879943

Aluminum Lower Half Doors – Black | Polaris RZR Store

If these are indeed the full half doors as the picture shows, do you reuse the factory door frame to mount? I would like to keep my PRP door bags if this is the case.

Mud flaps

Is anyone using the front mud flaps that fit on the Xp1000? Polaris website does not show them for the 900 but it looks like the ones from the XP1000 should fit the 900-4. Last weekend riding on some gravel roads with half door we got a lot of little rocks spraying up in the cab.

Potential Problem?

Has anyone had a problem with the fuse box and rectifier wiring being exposed under the belly right in front of the rear tire. Last weekend while riding some rocky terrain I saw rocks flying everywhere, even into the cab. It sure looks like the bottom of the plastic fuse box with all of the exposed wires is a disaster waiting to happen. Opinions and experiences?
