2015 rzr 170

A buddy of mine is thinking about getting a 170 for his kids. My questions are his kids are 7 years old and was wondering how long do these last for a average age? Also is 3700 out the door a good price for one that has 4 hrs on it. Sorry guys if this has been asked a lot just trying to help a friend out. Any help much appreciated

What Do You Think?

Good Afternoon all. I started a thread about the big wheel kit last week but after some research I have decided not to go that route.
My kids machine needs new tires and I am wanting to gain a little ground clearance. I would not mind getting some custom wheels but the only machined wheels RM offers are only for the rear, same width front and back. I am trying to stay as "stock" as possible just wanting a little more clearance. I like having the narrower wheels and tires in front. I live in central Fl. so my kids are only riding in sand pine trails with a little mud. I need the ground clearance for palmetto roots ect. No rocks or sand dunes here. I am about to pull the trigger on a set up from Rocky Mountain and wanted some opinions before doing it.
Front- Douglas .125 10×5 3+2. With STI Tech 4xc 22x7x10
Rear- Douglas .125 10×8 3+5. With Kenda Bear Claw 23x10x10
All for under $500.00
What do you think? Would this be a good, cheap way to gain clearance without doing any other mods? Concerns with the front tow in being bad? Was going to try it out then maybe get the sprocket if needed. I have read some people did not need the sprocket, some people did. Also do not want to put too much stress on other parts, transmission, hubs, axles ect. What about being top heavy. If I do this and they flip it and get hurt, momma will not be happy.
If you have any suggestions/opinions please let me hear them.
Thanks D.

RZR 170 transport in pickup bed question

I’m looking to buy my girls a 170 for Christmas or two small quads. The predicament I am in is that the 170 won’t fit in my toyhauler with my RZR (14.5′ garage area).

This leaves the option to put it in the pickup bed. I have a Ram 2500 and the bed length is 76.8" (per Google). I measure a little over 75" with the tailgate up. On paper the 170 is 85". I know that the 170 will definitely fit with the tailgate down, but that’s not an option. I can’t tow my toyhauler with my tailgate down.

I’ve looked into ATV risers for the pickup bed, but I have concerns about the clearance of the mini Rzr.

How do you guys that own these transport them in your pickup bed? For those without an 8′ box, do you just remove the tailgate or use risers?

I plan on heading out Saturday and I’m either getting the quads or the 170. Thanks for any help.

Big Wheel Kit

Good Afternoon,
I wanted to upgrade my boys 170 for Christmas this year. Not wanting to spend a lot of $, I figured the BWK would be the perfect fit. Called my dealer and they stated that Polaris no longer offers this upgrade. Is this correct? If so I guess I could just shop around to find wheels, tires, and get the new sprocket and chain from Polaris. Thanks in advance for any assistance/advice. :redrzr:

WTB complete headlight pass side rzr 170

I have a 2012 RZR 170

Looking for a complete passenger side headlight.

I ordered one from dealer and it does not come complete even though I asked for a complete kit.

Looking for Headlight, bulb and socket. My daughter hit a tree and the light went missing lol

I am in Arizona if anyone has a used set because they upgraded.

Thanks

Aaron

170 front 12″ wheels for 5″ wide smoothies dunes

Looking for a wheel option on the front of my daughters 170 to run a 22 x 5" smoothie for the dunes. Need Black to match the rears.

I was able to find ITP’s for the rears but multiple shops here in AZ could only get an 8" front wheel and my 5" wide smoothies wont bead up.

Any suggestions? I see others on here with combinations for the dunes.

I am running a 22 x 12" paddle in the rear and it works well.

Or if you have a front set for sale let me know.

Maybe my dealers are just lazy LOL

Thanks

Aaron

Looking to buy a new rzr 170 or pitster

Im going to buy my kids a new Rzr 170 or Pitster lil’mojave for Christmas. The rzr is about $5000 out the door including tax (8% here) and registration. The pitster is $3000 shipped plus tax and registration. I’m slightly torn on which to buy. I’m very mechanical and have been a small engine tech for most of my life. The pitster wins on paper, but the rzr has EFI and a warranty and will have much higher resale value in the future.

It looks like the corrected the air intake issue on the new rzr, but im not sure if they updated anything else.

Im looking for some input before pulling the trigger on one.
