im new to atvs this is my first its a 1986 honda 350 fourtrax .. the battery will not charge it just recently began to do this i had rode it for many days often hours at a time cut it off and would crank right up then after a light day of riding i noticed the dash lights got real dim wouldnt crank kick started fine ive read it may be the stator or the rectifier im just wondering how to trouble shoot and test to figure out which one is the issue .. thanks

When I drive my 2013 foreman for a little then come to a dead stop and turn the bike off I hear spinning coming from the front of the motor. Sounds likes it grinding on something to not to sure thought. It won’t do it if just:icon_ laughup: turn the bike on and drive for about 2 mins. It only happens sometimes. I’m going to bring it into the shop but would like to know what it is. It’s still under warranty.

ive got an 07 rancher 420 and a few months ago i had a battery die and it wouldnt stay charged long enough to work right so i went and purchased a new one. i went on one ride and killed the bike 5 or 6 times then one time it wouldnt crank at all so i got a jump off from a friend and i made it about a half a mile and it died again. we did this about 10 times until we finally made it back to the truck. but if the battery was brand new and just randomly died i was wondering if it would be my regulator or stator thats bad. also if i gave my old battery a full charge it would last about 3 hours before dying again.

Had to remove the swing arm to r/r the drive shaft boot . Put the arm back and now have a gap on the rigt side of the arm that shows the threads of the nut.had out 3 times to check the seals and bearings and all good . Torque all by specs (wasn;t like this when took down) no play no where and nothing in a bind. Think frame sprung ? Had new bearing a year a go

i have a 2001 recon i get no spark while trying to start but when i release the button it will spark for a second. i have tried different spark plug new cdi and even the pick up coil. but still have same problem. next i will try the rectifier i read somwhere that this may cause the problem i am having. the bike ran great and then i shut it off and then this problem started. ran all the wires and checked the terminals everywhere i could think of

I’ve got a 2006 fourtrax 420 at the moment, its the switchable auto/es model and the last few times I’ve tried to start it it just turns and makes a huge backfire noise and sometimes so loud that it throws a flame out the exhaust!!! So it hasn’t yet actually managed to start so I’m just wondering if anyone has any idea what the problem is?
