im having trouble getting the rear u-joint out of my four wheeler, i figured it would be connected to the shafted and if i removed the axle and rear diff i could pull it out of the motor, but of course it is connected to the shaft with splines, any help is very appreciated

My buddy has a honda foreman 500 that has been sitting for about half a year. He is going to get it running and going again. The problem is is that it will only run on full choke and will sputter and bogs out at half throttle. Also, when it’s not running, gas leaks out of the carb. What’s the problem? Time for a carb rebuild?
yesterday my father in law bought a new 2014 Honda rubicon. (which he got the rubicon because he has a jeep rubicon silly I know) and the dealer told him to turn off the fuel and let it run out of fuel after every use if it won’t be ridden in in about 7 days because it has a carburetor. is there any truth to this? I can understand if it is to be put away for the winter maybe, I would add stable. what is your thoughts? thanks rick
Ok guys the other day I attempted to pull out a trailer with my 95 foreman 400. I heard a pop after that I have had no rear wheel drive. I have torn her down three times and thought I’ve found the problem but upon putting it back together still nothing. While on stands with all wheels spinning I can grab and stop the rear wheels and it makes I popping sound from the rear end I tore it apart and cannot find problem. I replaced the drive shaft because the splines seemed worn. I am out of ideas please tell me someone out there does.
When starting my ’01 TRX250EX, sometimes when I push the button to start, the solenoid just clicks, and the starter does not engage. So, when I put it in reverse and back into neutral, it will start just fine, almost 100% of the time. Does anyone know how to test a neutral switch? Or even know where it is located? I am guessing that may be my issue, since it’s an ’01, but not sure how long they last.
I can also leave it in neutral and then put a screw driver on the starter post and jump it that way, guessing that bypasses the neutral switch.
Greetings everyone! I was recently given a 2001 Honda Recon by a friend. I have never really had a Four Wheeler before, but I have had many Honda’s back in the day when the XR500 ruled the trail. (I am showing my age there)
Its rough to be sure but I think it’s worth putting some time and money into so I can ride around in the mud with the big boys on those RZR’s while packing a sandwich and some beverages…and maybe even the wife.
I want to get it running so I can asses the overall condition of the motor & Trans before I get too far into the brakes and bearings, wheels & tires and various other parts that could turn into an addiction.
I have determined that the starter relay is missing, I have one on order.
It turns over when I jump the two leads together but I have no spark, key is on, headlights work and the kill switch cover was taken apart and the innards were thoroughly cleaned with contact cleaner.
I tried two different coils on the bike but no change. Every switch and wire has been checked but there is one wire that has been broken and I cannot determine what it was for, it does not get voltage when the key is on, and it does not change ground state when I turn on the key or fiddle with any switch.
It is under the seat on the left side and goes into the main wire loom, its a thin wire that has a yellow jacketed wire surrounded by a jacket of mesh wire shield, then the rubber black with white stripe PVC. I will attach a photo in the event that someone here can ID the thing. I cannot find the other end of this thing to determine what it is.
Thanks for any insight or direction you could give me!

Just picked up a new honda air filter, the counter guy said it came pre oiled. When I installed it though the oil coating seemed very thin and hardly noticeable. My question is, should I run it the way it is or should I give it a bath in the super sticky filter oil?
