I have a 2005 Honda 400ex and I have loosened the 4 allen bolts to be able to turn the concentric adjustment assembly to tighten my chain. However, it will not budge at all… Any suggestions?
alright to start out last winter i was riding in the snow u joint snapped and locked up, cracked output shaft housing. pulled motor and replaced that whole unit. i also have another fourtrax i was just rebuilding everything went great with that one. but i realized that i had put the gear that sits closest to the left hand side of the case in backwards. so i pulled it and flipped the gear put it all back togther and started it but the tranny was locked up. sounded as thought it was under load in nuetral so i pulled it and split the cases again. disassembled and reassembled the tranny, now it spins in nuetral, but as soon as it shifts into reverse it wont spin unless i take the reverse gear out. same with first gear. it will not spin in either of those gearswhen those gears are installed. and have a bunch of extra parts that a bought a while back, so i swapped all gears out and countershaft and main shaft shift forks and the rod that goes through them, the only thing i havent swapped on the tranny is the shift drum. any ideas?? anything is appreciated.
I have my fan connected to an external switch because it wouldn’t come on automatically, now I would like to fix it but I can’t find the oil thermo sensor, page 20-11 of the manual shows it real good but I can’t find anything like it on the motor, is it possible that they are using something else to turn the fan on, or has someone had this problem and found the thermo sensor?
tks
bought bike seller told me needed new oil pump according to dealer / tore down pump bolts were all backed out reattached pump. reassembled cranked put in gear ran great /parked up approx. 30 min went to ride again would not go anywhere / so ordered and replaced oil pump and chain put back together now wont move at all / when i put in dr. or rev. will jump just a little but thats it
So I have a problem with my 97 Foreman 400. The cooling fan will not turn on. I have tried grounding the blue wire on the bottom of the engine, the oil light comes on, but the fan still does not turn on. The fan is not seized, it spins freely. Ive checked and replaced fuses just in case, and the oil temp light always turns on when I turn the key. Am I right in thinking its the fan that has gone out? or can it still be the fan control box thing? Thanks for your help!
Hi all! I have a 1998 Honda Recon 250. Great 4wheeler, the thing is a beast! After riding last night, I noticed (what you see in the picture.) now, I’m no mechanic – be it cars, 4wheelers, bicycles, kids toys… You get the idea – so I have no clue what this could be. From the research I’ve done, I think it may be called either the axle seal or wheel seal…? It came out from the gearbox. Can anyone pinpoint what this is really called? I gotta get one asap. ‘Preciate any help!

1) FOREMAN 2013…on the front wheels, I getting a little metalic rubbing or slight squeeking during movement…Are those grease zerks I see on the inside front wheels, or they for something else? Is there another way to lube?
2) RANCHER 2003… on front wheels as well, getting almost same noise during riding…but I dont see anyway to lube hubs…can I get to the bearings to repack or another way to lube wheels?
OK I give up. I hear there’s free manuals on here but in my Monday stupor state I can’t find the link. Any one care to point me in the right direction?
Hello all!! I’m sure this has been covered a million times but maybe this thread can get turned into a sticky once it comes to full fruition.
What is your most recommended engine oil and differential fluids for your TRX300 or TRX300FW?
I am asking this questions for 2 reasons…(1)I will be doing complete fluid changes on both of my new machines soon here and want to know what is absolute best to put in them and (2) others will want to know the same things and if all of the answers are in one thread, it will be quite handy down the road.
