Help. I went one seal too far on recon rear end rebuild and need a PN#

So I am doing the rear brakes and the bearings etc on the 2001 recon (Recon is short for recondition it seems) and I took out the seal that goes in the swing arm just before the splines (to get the mud out) on the drum side and the kit I purchased from Ebay (Boss bearings) did not have that seal.

I have a photo so you can see the seal that I need. I kinda bent up that metal cover that protects the seal, do folks replace that or just toss it?

I cant find that listed anywhere and I guess I need to order one (Or go to Honda to get it $$) and I kinda need a part number. Anybody have a diagram with part numbers that shows it?

And while I am on the topic of this rear end rebuild I would like to ask… my kit came with three bearings and two outer axle seals, I am guessing that two of those bearings go on the other side (drive side?) of the swing arm…but how do I get those out of that steel tube housing? They are definitely shot so I hope I am thinking correctly, the one in the brake drum side was held in by large e-clip and two on the other side do not seem to have a retainer…. I see no snap ring or e-clip retaining them so whats up? Do I need to remove the differential and drive them out from the other side?

Behind this seal are the two other outer bearings that I plan to change.
But no snap ring was behind that seal.

2015 rubicon valve adjustment

Hi, new to the Honda forum. I understand the search option and have used it to try and find my answer. Only thread I found that had pictures doesn’t support the images anymore. Waiting on a service Manuel now but need to have them done before the weekend. Does anyone have info on adjusting these valves I have the clearance values already. Are the rocker arms adjustable or are they shim over bucket style?

2003 trx 250

Hello everyone. I just bought a 2003 honda quad. The registration just says trx250. I am having trouble finding a manual on it. I changed the oil. It has been dripping oil underneath. When I took out the plug, I needed 17 mm socket. The closest manual I could find said it should be 12 mm. Also there was no crush washer. The plug looks like someone replaced it with a fine thread bolt. I put it back in and used a crush washer from my motorcycle. Unfortunately it still drips. I want to order an oem plug and washer but I’m not sure if the 12 mm is right or if the thread would be the same. Any ideas?

87 Honda trx250

Hi. I recently replaced my CDI and coil on my trx250. I can ride it as much as I want in 1st or 2nd gear, but when I hit 3rd or 4th gear, it runs for about a minute and then acts like it’s getting too much gas or not enough and it dies. It will start back up after a few minutes, but again I am not able to go above 2nd gear. Any ideas?

2006 Honda Fourtrax Oil Drain

Okay, maybe you guys can help me out here. A friend of mine let her daughter attempt to change the oil on her 06 Fourtrax, after that it had a very slow oil leak. I had a feeling that either she or someone previously had damaged the drain plug, because I’d ran into a similar problem on my older TRX300. I get out there, and low and behold it would seem that is in fact the problem. You can see the issue in the uploaded picture, there is a chunk out of the case. Its not as serious as the TRX I had, you could actually see the bolt threads through the oil and the drain plug design was a little bit different. But it would appear to me there isn’t enough surface area left to get a firm seal with the crush washer.

That being said, what would be the best way to go about fixing this? I have some ideas, and some experience with my own TRX, but that involved more black voodoo magic then I’d like to invest.. And this thing is isn’t in the best environment work on it. Shes thinking about just sending it to a shop, but I would prefer to fix it for her if I can. But I’d like some input before I make another attempt on it.

Thanks.

03 Forman 450 carburetor issues

Need some help. I purchased carb rebuild kit with new jets and gaskets. Starts right up and idles great. Push throttle and it bogs down. I took main jets out again and made sure they were clean. Put it back and same issue. I adjusted fuel needle valve to specs. Thought it was a carb issue but I took another carb from exact 450 Forman that runs great and put it on the rough running quad. Had exact same issue with carb from other forman. Now I know it’s not a carb issue. What else am I missing to check? Fuel is running through lines and it runs great on slight choke. Please help.
