New intake boot where the carb mounts to the head cause it was cracked. Checked valve timing it’s perfect and replaced voltage regulator. Starts up fine idles prefect inneutral and in gear and throttles up alright cold but as soon as itgets warm u ccan’t go over quarter throttle in gear or it dies but if u shit back to neutral quick when it’s shutting off it will idle perfect I replaced the voltage regulator and that seam to fix it for about 30 mins then right back to the same thing. I NEED HELP PLEASE
Ok guys i recently bought this bike for my wife and have been fixing this and that on it getting into good shape again. We noticed today that the oil cooler fan is not running and it should have been due to how hot it was outside. I got to checking and some idiot has cut the wires coming off the fan motor and has the blue running to the battery and the ground not even hooked up… I cant find anywhere where these wires are supposed to hook to. Ive read alot about how to trouble shoot the system but need to know where to hook the fan wires up to get started. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch.
Is it possible to add electric start to a 1991 TRX 250X? They came without battery from the factory, but then in 1995 it was replaced by the very similar TRX 300EX which did have electric start.
What would be required in order to do this? Or is this impossible to do?

I have a 1991 Honda Fourtrax 250X (kick start) that is in very good, stock condition & low hours.
Recently while on vacation in Baja, it suddenly stalled on me out of the blue while riding it, it didn’t overheat, it didn’t run out of fuel, it just quit. I tried kick starting it but it was almost as if it wasn’t getting any spark (I checked the spark plug cable and it was ok).
Then suddenly it started up again and was fine for a while. Later it did the same thing.
Came back from vacation, took it to get a tune up (they rebuilt the carburetor, changed oil, etc). Stored it in my garage ever since, and yesterday I tried to start it, and again it wouldn’t budge (it normally starts 1st or 2nd kick). After about 15 minutes of trying, it started up (kick starting gets tiresome FAST).
What could be causing this? I suspect it must be something electrical but have no idea which part it might be, has anyone had similar experiences with a similar model? (This is the early 250x which is basically a 300ex with a kick start instead of electric).
hello everyone. i have been scratching my head on this for about a week now. selling my 2014 Honda Rancher TRX420FA Electronic Shift. i bought all brand new plastics for it and doing all the maintenance on it before i sale. when it is idling for about 10 min there is steam coming from my radiator cap and engine is super hot to the touch, can only touch it for just a fast second. it has a new Water Temp Sensor. New Thermostat. cleaned and flushed radiator. air bleeded the cooling system. did everything the service manual told me to do. does anyone have any ideas? how hot do these water cooled engines get? my fan does not kick on at all either only when i unplug the temp sensor. please any help with work. its a bad*** bike and runs really well. i am just done with the ES and go back to foot shift. it only has 350 miles. Thanks for any of the help!
