hi as the title says I just came around to an old Honda 4trx 300
It was not running so I took it to a mechanic and got it running he changed the piston, (by the way he ripped me off he charged me for a new piston kit, and cilinder cut, but let me continue)
So he got it running, but the engine made a lot of noise a loud clonck noise, I asked him what was wrong, but he said he needed to opened the bike and check to see what was wrong but I was not pleased at the fact that he did not know.
So I took it upon myself to investigate and found out that it was the stretched timing chain.
I opened the bike to find out that the piston was a used piston, the cilinder was not cut nor honed, some of the threads were stripped.

I changed the chain and one way bearing, but I was not able to get it running so I took it to another mechanic, he got it running but still I hear noises not as loud nor the same, but now I’m worried that the bike might break down on me.

So all of that to ask you if I’m going to rebuild the engine, what are the most common parts that need servicing, replacing or maintained?

Please help, also what is it cheaper to buy another engine or to repair my engine.
I will try to post a vid showing the engine noises.

So I’ve been doing a hand full of top ends recently and there is always that one bike or ATV that has a cylinder that just does not want to come off. I guess gaskets work really good as epoxy after being compressed for a while. Lol.
Any way what are some methods yall use to get stuck cylinders off? I guess they might make a chemical that can soak into the gasket from the side but just wanted to hear how everybody does it and what works best. I can eventually manage to get them off, but not usually as proficient as I like. Lol

Any thought?

I have a 450 Foreman, after roughly 20 mins of riding it starts spitting and sputtering and only idle. When i try and give it gas it will barely move the tires, and the oil temp light flickers on and off. I can let iit set for a lil bit and it would fire back up and run just fine. I have wired the fan to a toggle switch for i hadn’t heard it kick on after it warmed up. I did a test ride today and it did the same thing and now it will turn over all day but wont fire and crank. it has been laid on its side and sat on its side for a lil while cause no help to put it back on four wheels by myself. I changed air filter and will put new spark plug in tomm, could oil have got into places it shouldn’t have while laying on its side for a short time? How to remove drive shaft from 1998 Honda foreman 450es. Got front diff removed an an drive shaft removed from motor. Not sure how to remove it from front diff. Installing a 4-2-4 lock out for 4wd so front drive shaft has to go.

Hello everyone, first post here. I was cleaning my four wheeler the other day and removed my battery to clean out all the debris and when I hooked my battery back up and turned the key there was no power. I made sure the connections were all still good, checked all fuses, and then hooked up jumper cables from my truck battery to the four wheeler battery. I turned on the key and the power came on so I cranked it up.

I let it run for a good 15 minutes and when I went to put it in gear to move it the power went out and it died. I took the battery out and put it on a charger and it read full charge. I put the battery back in and still no power.

I could really use some help here. Any suggestions on what might be wrong?
It was running fine before I cleaned it. I had to drive it up to the front yard.

So I got fourtrax 300. But the stock lights are crap and the bike has other additional lights as high beams witch are crap also.
so I want to install led flood lights and led spot light.
I want the flood as low beam and the spot as high beam
But I want to install on to my stock wiring harness, but my issue is that when I turn the high beams The low beams go out. .
But here’s thing, I want that when I turn the high beams the low beams stay on also.
Can I do this? How?mcan any one help me on this?

Got this build from a guy he says when he takes it through any kind of water it will die it doesn’t take much water to kill it is what he said . I figured it is probably the carburetor. What do you guys think?
