Does anyone have a shop repair manual for a 1989 trx300 that I can download. I’ve checked the other threads and the links are no good. Oh and I’m Robert, I’m new to this site. This is my first thread. :icon_ deal:
I have a Honda 300 1996 model. I need some help with a problem I’m having with it.
The machine will crank fine and runs well, until it gets hot and is idling. It does not run rough but just cuts off. It will crank back up after 15 or 20 minutes. It mostly does this at lower idle and not so much at a little higher rpm.
It charges the battery fine so I don’t think it is the stator. I suspect it is the rectifier but I am unsure. There also seems to be some other box that can cause this. Any ideas?
I have been noticing my 2000 Recon making a sound or two for a few weeks. Sounds like something not quite going into place after shifting (manual shift). Periodically while operating something would josel around and then fall into place (I think, it would stop making noise). I just added a new set of bear claws on it recently and today the sounds were much worse. Sounds vary from pin and bangs to scrapping and whining, it basically just sound horrible….
My quad is fully operable. I can shift into all 5 gears and reverse. Sounds are heard in all gears including reverse. When operating at speed, the banging is hard enough that I can feel it thru the frame of the bike. Sounds are not constant and appear independent of riding conditions. Do not believe it is engine related as can rev engine up in neutral an no sounds are heard.
Thinking it is transmission and/or rear end related. I have the correct oil (Honda Brand 40W) in engine with around 10 hours on it. I checked the rear end and my gear oil looked good (pervious owner has Mercurser Outdrive oil in it…its green).
I am looking for some advise on where to start trouble shooting my problem. Have a manual for bike, plan on memorizing it.
need some help new to the site. I have a 2005 Honda Rincon. the machine while idle fine but will not rev up. when you hit the throttle the RPM stay exactly the same. I have put new jets in the carb the carburetor is clean I have checked the air box change the air filter. I am just at a complete loss on what to look at next.
I’m been working on a 2003 350es for a friend of mine and am now into the carb because of some hard starting issues. It acts like it’s starving for fuel even with the choke on when cranking but then smells like it’s running rich when idling. The carb itself was spotless and everythings in spec. I read in the manual that the fuel cut-off valve should hold vaccuum when it’s applied to the hose but should allow air to pass through the other way. This one holds vaccuum but I don’t seem to be able to blow through it? Correct me if I’m wrong; this valve prevents a leaning in the mixture on decceleration to prevent popping? Could it have anything to do with the primary jet and effect starting? It’s a pricey component and he has limited funds.
as going down a fairly steep hill. As I got 3/4 of the way down in 1st gear it started to roll really fast so I had to put my brakes on. When I got to the bottom and it slowed down it was like it was going slow enough it "went" back into 1st gear. Is it suppose to do this? If not, what could be causing it to do this. I have a 2001 Foreman and it doesn’t do that. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!
Ok I am new to the forums here and need a little bit of help. I recently purchased a used 2000 honda rancher 350 all time 4×4 atv. It is a good bike and runs good but i ran into a roadblock today. I was changing the oil and oil filter and (I know this is a common problem.) The last person to do the job had stripped the oil pan. Of course this was extremely upsetting because I am 14 and had to buy and fix this four wheeler with my own money that I earned.(Also on a very tight budget.) So as I was saying the oil pan is stripped and I understand that people tap them and just insert a bigger bolt. Would this be a reasonable fix, or is there a quicker fix? Will post a picture of the bike if anyone would like to see it. Any help is very appreciated. Thanks in advance!
I am replacing the timing chain on my wife’s ’07 Recon. I got a new chain from the local dealer. When I attempted to install it, I found that it was too narrow to fit on the gears. We double checked the part#, which was right. We also went a few years forward & backward to see if we could come up with a different part#, but the part# hadn’t changed. We also checked another chain from the dealers inventory, which was the same.
My old chain has 7 plates sandwiched between the rivets (not including the side plates) & measures .349" across the side plates.
The new chain only had 5 plates between the rivets (again, not including the side plates). I did not get a measurement before the dealer took it back.
I am hoping that the wrong part was put in the packages @ Honda. The parts guy said that it has happened, but it is very rare. Other than that, I’m stumped:unsure:.
Does anyone have any other ideas?
