87 fourtrax 250x oil leak

Hey everyone, Just picked this beast up off cl for 500$ runs and drives great i think, only issue im having is leaking oil from where the valve cover meets the head, also it seems as if the valve cover has two cracks in it, so everytime before i ride i always check the oil level, ive also noticed some of the valve cover bolts are stripped as they dont tighten down all the way, Whats the best way about going to get this fixed, motor was rebuilt 4 months ago and a newer transmission was put in it according to the gentlemen i bought it from, Thanks in advance for all the help!

1999 fourtrax 300 4×4 Carb issue

My 99 fourtrax carb has been rebuilt and it was running fine. I put nothing in it but non ethyl gas with sea foam added in. It mostly sits until hunting season, but is started and left idling until the muffler is hot 2 or 3 times a month. It recently has gotten to where it will idle but won’t take gas when trying to accelerate. Any ideas on what may be wrong?

A bunch of 300ex problems

Just have been having a bunch of problems with my bike lately and wanna see if you guys can help me out, it’s a 2001 300ex with almost no upgrades aside from some cosmetic stuff, new bearing carrier, chain, sprockets, and air filter. So to start while riding last weekend my quad would go maybe 1/8 of a mile then start bogging and die, I know exactly what the problem is because I had this problem before. It has a metal gas tank and apparently every so often it would accumulate flakes of rust at the bottom and in the petcock, I cleaned it out last time but this time the flakes of rust were all inside the petcock almost to a dirt making the fuel flow to only a drip so it would fill the bowl, use all the fuel in the bowl, then die. I fixed that. Next problem was oil leaking out of the head, and onto the header and block, I really loaded the hondabond on this time and even put it on the part where the bolts seat, got every orifice on the head loaded with it. Hopefully that’ll be fixed we will see next time I ride, along with that I adjusted the valves, still tick like crazy even tho they are as to spec as I could get them .005 exhaust .004 intake, I’m thinking at this point it’s worn cam or rockers or maybe cam chain, not sure. Anyway another problem is my skid plate is pretty badly bent and has been bent this way since I got it, the kid before must have really nailed something hard to break the bracket and bend it this much, refer to picture 1. It hits the chain and is kind of annoying especially in videos, how can I bend back the metal? It’s pretty good solid steel, I tried heating the bracket with a propane torch for around 5 mins then pounded it with a hammer and it hardly moved, so I don’t have enough heat, should I just get a new one or is there a way I can bend this back? Next problem is my bearing carrier is moving around, side to side, the axle is in there pretty good but the entire unit is moving side to side. The lock nut doesn’t seem to extend far enough to tighten it up, I’m kind of lost on this one refer to next couple pictures. Last problem is I can’t seem to shift smoothly and I roll in gear, this seems like the clutch cable just needs to be adjusted but I tried adjusting it and can’t get it right, can I just adjust the clutch at the handlebar or should I do the lower part too? Oil filter fitment KN-113

It’s time to change the oil for the first time in my 2015 Rancher. I’ve been doing a little research about oil and filters and I’m still a little bit in the dark about the oil filter. I’ll be putting Mobil 1 4t 10w40 in for oil, but I’m having trouble finding info on the oil filter.
From what I’ve read so far, it appears that the K&N KN-113 oil filter fits the 2015 model, can anyone verify this? I’m going by Advance Auto to pick up supplies after work and I just want to make sure what I get will fit.
What other filters can be recommended?

Thanks in advance for answering my nooby question!

2015 foreman 4wd not working

It is a 500 foreman (not a rubicon). We installed a warn winch going by the directions now the 4wd does not light up or blink and it does not go into 4wd. To install the winch; We first tested the orange wire to find out not enough current for a winch. So we wired into the diagnostic port and pullback relay- which honda mechanic at first said that was the problem. But now it’s not. They have checked everything down to the ECM with no luck, then they put in a new ecm out of a Rubicon and did not fix it. So today the dealership suggested we replace the entire wiring harness. They said none of this is covered under warranty yet they can’t explain what’s wrong or why it happened. I need help, shadetree has also been trying to help. Any ideas????

2015 Foreman 500 Fuel Management Light

Guys,

I have a 2015 Foreman 500 ATV, and it has about 30 hours on it…..I was getting it ready for winter, and in doing so, I put some stabil in the gas tank…..

Now, I’m getting a blinking light on the instrument panel. I looked in the manual, and it’s a warning light for the fuel management system…..

I’m thinking I put to much of the stabil in it, and now it’s running rich maybe?????? I put in about 3 ounces of it…So, before anybody says it…"I Know that was a dipshit move"

Any thoughts from the experts out there? What should I do at this point besides draining the gas and putting in fresh ????

Any help or advice would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks
