Iv looked just about everywhere for a good stalk a arm for my 400. So instead of buying the left lower a arm like I needed I accidentally bought the right. So does anyone know if the lower right a arm would work on the left side? Maybe a dumb question but I would rather know than taking mine apart and trying. Thanks!

Little background: Bought a used 1998 Foreman 450ES about 6 months ago. My 1st ES ever. Noticed it wouldn’t downshift when i was hitting the button until i stopped. Then i found this thread for the fix:
I screwed up royally by pulling the shifter motor off and removed the shaft and commutator from the spring-loaded brushes. I fought for hours under the 4-wheeler to reassemble. i used some thin wires to help hold the brushes back during reassembly, only to break a wire off inside the motor housing once reassembled. As stated before, I fought this for 3 good hours and was fed up and didn’t want to disassemble it to pull out the small wire left behind. Because i knew the fight i was in for. I did remove the correct plate that exposed the gears and lubed them accordingly and reassembled everything. Only to find it will not shift up or down and there is now no noise at all from the motor trying to engage. I assume the motor may be locked up (or possibly shorted) from the wire left behind?!?! I don’t know.
My question: Is there an easier way to reassemble this motor next time when i go back in to retrieve the wire??? That was a nightmare. Thanks for any help in Advance.
Hello, I have a 1994 TRX200 Type 2 and the drive chain is really loose and I’ve tightened it up as tight as it’ll go. Can I remove any links from the chain? I haven’t removed it yet or anything, just wondering if I can or if I have to order a new one.
I just purchased a used 400 ex and the chain is to tight. I loosened as much as possible but still is not enough. How far does the adjuster turn? I am getting the adjuster to rotate approximately 1 inch and I don’t know if this is normal and I need to add a half link to resolve.
Ok crazy question. Was out of the sport for about 4 years due to relocation/work/etc. Before storing I changed oil to Motul double ester full synthetic atv oil. Drained gas etc. Battery on Tender.
Question – Bike started up and runs like the day I bought it. Checked oil and it looks brand new after a couple rides. Seems like a waste to change oil but is oil somehow "spoiled"/degraded after sitting for a period of time? I have searched forum but havent found any answers on this except that dino oil degrades if left to sit. Considering the quality of oil does this make a difference? i.e still good to go? A 4l jug of that stuff is about $90 where I live and if still good….
For what its worth bike has a total of 22hrs use and this was my 3rd oil change (but first with full synthetic oil).
I am in the procces of putting a head and base gasket on my 83 Honda ATC 200 and I have a few questions. Do I spray permatex copper on the gaskets before install? I also bought a top end gasket kit (winderossa), what are these other o rings for? How do I get the o rings for the dowel pins to go back in the head? Don’t know if pictures posted but let me know. Any help appreciated.thanks
First off I wanted to say thanks to everyone who can give me help with this problem. I just bought an 08 rancher 420 FI 4×4 ES. It’s all stock and I got a fairly good deal on it due to the problem. When you start it up it idles really high and won’t shift into reverse and it’ll shift forward sometimes but it jumps because it’s so high. I did some research and everything pointed to the IAC so I removed it, cleaned it, and reinstalled it correctly with no change. The bike had sat up a while and I don’t know if it caused this problem or what. Where would be the next place to look? I’m a diesel mechanic by trade so I know my way around a motor but the last 4 wheeler I had was an old timber wolf 250 so I’m definitely not familiar with this machine. Thank you to anyone who can help and have a great day!
My rubicon started knocking and it is consistent with rpm range. It doesn’t get quite when cold or louder when hot. After taking valve covers off I noticed there was 1/16 to an inch gap in valve adjustment with the greatest being on the exhaust side. I removed the powerhead and noticed the intake valves and been making contact with piston. I can hand crank the engine and everything in lower end sounds good and is getting adequate oil. Has anyone seen this before? Should I do a valve job and try it?
