Honda ATC 200 intermittent/weak spark.

My friend has this go kart that has a ATC 200 engine strapped to it. It came to me with a few problems but I still have to get it running. I relocated the shoddy ground to a very solid one, I used a ring terminal behind a case bolt. After that it had spark. It wasn’t bright blue, but more yellow or orange. I had to use a different plug boot off a snowmobile. IDK if that makes any difference. This thing sat at somebody’s shop for 3 years outside covered in rain and snow with no pull start cover on so I thought it was the stator. It measured a little high in ohms but not very much if I remember correctly, but I’ll go check again later. I replaced the ignition switch on it from some other bike with a simple toggle switch, and yes I put it in the right way I know that when the two wires are connected the bike shuts off. I looked at a service manual and checked the pulse generator resistance which was fine, and the air gap which was also in spec. What gives? I feel bad for the guy because he dropped off the go kart at somebody’s shop to fix a broken pull cord. It was running when he dropped it off, and the guy left it out with no pull start cover on for 3 years, and now it doesn’t run. They got tired of waiting, and brought it to me. What gives?

1989 Honda FourTrax 350 kick start problem.

So my Honda was stuck in gear, wouldn’t go into neutral. At the same time the kickstart won’t catch, it will catch from time to time but not fully. I put some oil in and it went into neutral after that and the kickstart started to catch and crank over how it was supposed to. But after trying to kickstart it for 2 minutes the kick start went back to barely catching and now it won’t even catch at all. Any ideas?

05 400ex having trouble finding neutral

Im having kinda a weird issue with my 400ex
I know it is a more common problem with the 300ex’s. But for some odd reason i just cant find neutral to save my life unless i shut the quad off then it goes right in. I installed a ebc clutch and stiffer springs over the winter because the stock clutch looked like it was in a campfire lol. It grips super good it lets out right in the middle of the clutch lever throw and i have made sure i have the clutch adjusted perfectly as far as end play goes on the lever. Is it common for new clutches to need to be adjusted a few times as they break in maybe? Or the only other thing i can think of is the clutch cable up by the lever where the metal end comes to the black rubber cover over the cable is alittle almost bunched up right there. But just a tiny bit. Any info or insight is greatly appreciated thanks

Carburetor removal

Can anyone tell me how to completely remove the carburetor from my 2000 350S?

I have seen a video on a similar thread that I posted before, but it’s not the exact same carburetor that I have. Mine has what looks to be a nut below the bowl, with wires attached. I think I would need to unscrew that in order to completely remove my carburetor. I tried removing it once, but it was so tight, I was afraid to break it. I could not figure out how to remove the wire from the connection, so that was a dead end too.

Any suggestions?

TRX250 won’t shift to neutral

Hey guys, great site, thanks for all the info and advice so far.

I have a 2002 TRX250 TM2 that sometimes has a hard time switching to neutral. Like right now, its off and no matter which direction I try to shift, no neutral. It doesn’t always happen, just sometimes.

Am I doing something wrong or do I need a fix?

Top end rebuild kit ??

I am looking for a top end rebuild kit for a 2008 honda rancher 420 fm . But I am looking for the piston and the cylinder and gaskets to come in one kit… The ones on eBay come separate ,some are used and some are ungodly expensive . Anyone have some clues ?

Master cylinder won’t build pressure

I have a Honda trx300FW and I recently installed the highlifter disc brake conv kit. When I went to bleed the brakes, I could not get them to bleed or build pressure in the master cylinder. Well I figured the master cylinder needed to be rebuilt because it wouldn’t build pressure before the discs were installed. So I rebuilt it and it still won’t build pressure or allow the brakes to bleed. Any ideas on how to fix this?
