Help needed asap!

Hey guys newbie here and just started working on a 1987 Honda fourtrax 300. It’s been sitting up for about 4 years so I took the tank off and cleaned it really well. Put the tank back on and hooked it up and it wouldn’t start. I noticed that there was no fuel coming out of the petcock into the fuel line. I took the line off turned the engine over and could not feel it pulling any kind of a vaccuum against my finger so I’m wondering if the carb is bad on it or if I have another issue. Please help a rookie atv guy out.

Thanks.

Justin

TRX 350 no power under load

Hi,
I just got an 86 TRX 350 that starts, idles and revs fine. It runs fine in 1st, but has a hard time accelerating past 2nd or 3rd. I can keep it wide open in 2nd gear and it clearly doesn’t have the torque it should.

I don’t know much about these TRX350s, are there any typical issues i should look at first?
Valves? Timing? Carb?

I’ll buy a new plug, but i’d be surprised if that solves it all…
Thanks for any advice!

Mobil1-4t oil

I just wanted to give a review on the Mobil1-4t 10w-40 synthetic oil. I havea 2006 honda rincon 680. I switched to it from honda GN4 and their is a huge difference. Since I am plowing in the winter, it makes starting while cold so much better and since its synthetic it flows better since its thinner. It lets my tranny shift SOOO much better also. I like how it lets my engine run cooler also, I noticed how my fan doesn’t come on as often as it used to when I had the GN4 in. That’s just less strain on the cooling system!! I switched to it right before I started to plow snow and I after all of the plowing I did, it looks like brand new. I took some off the dipstick and put it on a white piece of paper beside new stuff out of the jug, believe me on this, their is hardly any color change in it!! It is alittle darker but heck, I did a lot of plowing this winter. I have 243 miles and 65hrs on it!! I know it’s expensive but it was well worth it in my book! ($60 for oil and filter) anyone wanting to switch to synthetic or trying to decide on what brand to use, I highly recommend mobil1-4t and anyone who isn’t using synthetic oil, your missing out on a lot!! Their is only pros to switching, no cons So why not switch?

350 S carburetor replacement

Since I’m still having problems with my float sticking, I am thinking about just replacing the entire carburetor. I’d like to know if anyone who may have had this same issue has done this and it fix the issue? Or would I just be wasting my money?

Has anyone ever had any issues buying new carbs online?

I have been looking on Ebay and have found some that are selling for cheap, like $70.

Any thoughts?

Muffler options

Hi all,

Well got the foreman 450 back together and this time it seems to be running perfect except it really needs an exhaust…

Looking around, these are pretty pricey – from $250ish and up – that seems rather crazy!

I saw a youtube video where a guy welded a car muffler on one and it seemed to work well for him and although he did a good job and it was very quiet he had the muffler sticking off the back of the ATV something I don’t want to have.

Question is, are there any good options one could pick up at a local auto store? Anyway to cut open and rebuild a stock muffler if it has stuff rattling on the inside or is the only options forking out over $200+?
