400ex float/valve/seat help

Hi, my 03 400ex recently began leaking gas out of the carb drain even when the drain screw is seated. From reading online it seems like this is always a case of the float/float valve or seat. I disassembled my carb and cleaned it all out thoroughly. I checked to see if the valve would actually seal in the seat while I had it off the quad and it does. The float moves freely, there is no friction it doesn’t bind anywhere, it appears to seat the needle at the appropriate time to my bare eye, when the float is down the needle isn’t seated and when the float gets up to around level it seats the needle. I don’t have a float gauge. there are no obstructions, debris, scratches or anything on the seat. Like I said I hooked up a little vial of gas to a tube and moved the float up and down and it would seal correctly. But once it’s installed on the quad I can watch it, just idling, it will leak for like ten seconds, stop for maybe 20, leak for a minute, stop again…When I’m actually riding and it starts it will sputter and stuff as if it’s draining too fast to even get into the jet. I tried adjusting the float a tad but I know it isn’t really adjustable and don’t want to break it. Is there anything else I could try other than clean it again? I wouldn’t be posting if I hadn’t already cleaned it 5 times with no change. Thanks

Checking oil level properly on Rancher 420 models

I recently purchased a new 2016 Honda Rancher, and I’m beginning to care for it. I decided it was time to check the motor oil level at the 52 mile mark. I read the Owners manual and followed the instructions, all while recording. Not rocket science, but worth noting for 420 owners without a manual because the process is not as simple as pull the stick and check it. Honda recommends a process of letting the engine run and cool for specified periods of time. Hope this will be helpful for somebody.

91 carb

I have a 91 fourtrax 300 carb that the float was sticking and leaking gas. So I took the carb off and decided to get a rebuild kit. On the main jet does the emulsion tube seperate to reuse with the kit? The video in the sticky I watched doesn’t say and I assumed it comes with the kit. My kit didn’t have the emulsion tube and the guy at the parts store says it doesn’t come with one and he wasn’t sure if the old one seperated or not. Help me out guys, thanks

Recon pilot bearing removal?

I am rebuilding the rear end on my Recon due to bad seals and fluid leaking but also want to replace the pilot bearing along with all of the other bearings. I have removed pilot bearings in the past on automobiles using the grease method but those bearings don’t have that retaining ring on them. So my question is just how do you remove the pilot bearing on the Recon? Any special tips or tricks will be greatly appreciated.

2008 TRX420 ES electrical problem

Im having difficulty with my 2008 TRX420TE ES (electric shift) 2wd.

To start with, the bike would have NO response when the key was turned on. After fiddling with the bike I bypassed the kill switch by soldering the 2 wires together and now the backlight on instrument panel will come on but there is no writing that comes up. Its just an orange screen with nothing on it. The bike will not crank, shift, or anything but the light is on. I’ve checked the connections on everything but cant seem to figure out what may be wrong or how to check any possible problems. Thanks ahead for any help you may be able to offer!!!

94 TRX 200 Idle Speed

Probably a stupid question but for the life of me I can not find the idle adjustment on my ATV. Normally you’ll see the idle adjustment screw in the center of the carb. Not on my carb, doesn’t appear to adjustable….Can anyone help me? Thanks
