gently driven 2001 trx 250 ex fluids always changed, never beat on, recently the shifter would not go out of gear, rocking it etc would not release it.
looked around for the service manual as I have read the shifter plate must have gone bad, so I figured I would open the case and inspect it, is there anything electronic preventing it from shifting? seriously, my daughter probably never had it out of 3rd gear…
also tried searching for the manual so I could open it up and inspect but no luck. any help to get me going would be a big help..she’s bummed she cant ride this weekend. thanks in advance, Glen

Ok first off I will say this is my friends quad I was ridding it when it happened. So we where ridding for like 2 hours straight and hard. Well it just randomly died, like not just suddenly dead but acted like it was out of fuel. It has 1/2 a tank. I am good with motors so I went through the simple stuff, has oil, has spark, has compression, is sucking air in, and putting exhaust out. Btw this is all turning it over on the starter. I overrode the kill switch, still just turns over. Took off and cleaned out the carb and it is all working good, so good it shot gas 8 foot across the shop. So it has everything but still not running. Is there anything I can be missing? Oh and we didn’t start to work on it till it cooled down because I did not know if there was a way for it to overheat.

Hi, I’m restoring a 1986 Honda 200sx. It was in pieces when I bought it and now I have it almost all together and have some questions about finishing it up.
1. What size are the Engine to carb bolts?
2. What size are the exhaust to engine bolts?
3. Where the throttle cable meets the carb and you have to unscrew the cap off the carb to release the cable. I have the needle and spring out but how do I get the cap off the cable? It seems pressed on.
4. Top engine mount has three screws. What size are they?
I recently picked up this machine and it runs nice, not smoking, no noises, etc. The issue is it leaks oil from side cam plug cover and one of the 5"+ cam cover bolts is broke at the base. I believe I need to remove the head and drill out and extract bolt and then reassemble with new gaskets. I’m getting quotes from $250 to $700 dollars to fix. I’m fairly wrench capable and may try tackling myself. Does anyone know if this can be done without removing the entire engine? Anything else to be aware of? Please help. Thanks!

I just bought a 2007 Foreman 500 and the gear indicator is blinking 13 times. I looked it up and it said it was the throttle positon sensor. I got online and some people said it’s not as simple as it sounds to change it. The bike runs and shifts GREAT. Couldn’t ask for it to run better. I just don’t like the indicator flashing (OCD I guess). I’ve heard that changing the part doesn’t always fix the problem. (calibrations, leaving battery cable unplugged) Anybody have any issues or pointers I can use to fix the problem? (without costing hundreds of $)
