Because of the raised areas on each side of the bed it is hard to find something that will fit and not have a lot of unused space. I have seen plywood platforms and metal frames on the forum that span across the area to make a large flat surface. The problem is when you need to get to the motor hatch you have to unbolt the plywood or metal frame and re-install it when servicing of the motor is complete. I came up with a 16 gauge aluminum platform with a piano hinge, anchored on one side using the lock and ride system. because I wanted something light yet strong enough to hold a large plastic storage box and cooler I drilled holes in the plate and used the dimple dies to make the aluminum stronger. I bent an angle on the back to keep things from sliding around and it still allows access to the two back lock and ride anchor points to tie down what ever is in the cargo area. I attached a photo of it both closed and opened. Later, Trashpicker.
hey I’ve searched all over for hinges that I can use to hook to the 1.75" tubing on our rzr’s. Does anyone know of any?? I have some nice diamond plate that’s thin enough to not weigh a bunch but ridged enough to hold its own and I can order some slam latches but I’m really flustered with the hinges….no welder here
I searched the internet trying to find tips or how too’s, to build a snorkel kit for the ’15 900s, and found there’s not a lot of info out there. I got a lot of good information from BloodyPearl’s thread which you can find here, http://www.rzrforums.net/rzr-s-900/1…kel-build.html , I figured I would post some pictures of my build, to show some extra options.
I will try to post some more pics and info, including a couple of the snorkels removed and glued up to give an idea of a parts list.
I have a stock 2008 rzr 800 that the previous owner dusted. Has 1300 miles. I am using a quart of oil every 50 miles so that’s getting old. Other than that the machine seems to run just fine. I have never done anything like this but after watching D-Rays youtube video seems fairly simple. My background is I remodel houses to being ‘handy’ is second nature to me.
So what I’m not sure about is should I exchange the cylinder and do pistons and rings? I’ve read where some people only change rings. I get that if the cylinder is marred then obviously it needs rehoned but I have seen pictures of ‘bad’ cylinders that looked fine to me so I don’t really know what I’m looking for.
Any suggestions to where I can buy everything together opposed to trying to figure out what I need? I’ve heard some say to go with wiseco pistons so don’t know if I should do that or just stay stock?

I am looking for actual knowledge on batteries. Please keep speculation to a minimum. Really trying not to offend anyone, but my bottom line is getting thin and I would like to stay married a bit longer. LOL
Can someone confirm that when wiring the battery in series, should the batteries both be of the same amperage?
Any literature would be nice as well. Still googling, but have only found how to hook them up, I know how that works. And everything else that seems to have details is on hooking up batteries in parallel and that they should be the same size/age/capacity.
So why am I asking, well I keep melting the second battery, I am speculating because I had it as the smaller amperage battery.
