Did the 15’s also have it

RPM go up when turing left

Hey guys just wondering if anyone else has seen this or has a fix for it? I have a 2014 Sportsman 550 touring and whenever I turn the steering to the left the engine races as if I’m applying the throttle.

I took some panels off to check the throttle cable and it looks in tact. There were no tywraps securing it in place so I thought maybe the movement of the cable was the problem so I secured the throttle cable in a couple of places and that made it worse.

The only thing that seems odd to me is that where the throttle cable goes into the throttle body there is some play like its loose.

At the end of the cable where it attaches to the throttle body there is a metal piece. Is this supposed to be snug in the throttle body?

Thanks.

Pop Pop Pop, under light load

past wknd was crossing small hole and herd what sounded like axle splines
slipping, at home pulled wheels and found play in rear diff input/pinion shaft, checked rear diff fluid level very low and front of diff was oily and caked, so needing a good diff if anyone has one.

2015 850 sp primary clutch one way help

OK I’m trying to disassemble the primary clutch on my 2015 850 sp. I need a new one way bearing. I made a tool to pull the clutch off the engine. Then I made a holder and spider socket to spin the spider off. But it untreaded from inside the inner bell. I didn’t know was able to untread. So now I’m left with the main shaft, my broken one way, the spacer and the triangle (spider). What do I do now? I have searched. Haven’t found exactly this.

Removed stabilizer Bar

Pulled my Stabilizer bar off last weekend!

And

WOW

I have a new love for how my machine rides!. Between the HD springs, and the unhooked bar, it floats like a cloud!

The handling feels like absolute crap now with a ton of body roll. But imo it is a great trade off for how awesome it rides. Since I do easy trail riding for the most part, the bad handling doesn’t really affect me.

So if you haven’t done it, try it! Just be very careful your first ride out!

Bought 2014 850 HO engine

Will this be an easy swap for my 2009 850xp? Motor blew and I can get this engine for 1800. Buddy wrecked his with only 286 miles on it. Has the transmission too, I’m just wondering if the 850 HO is gunna be a problem??

Boss audio tune Help

I purchased the boss audio Bluetooth system. My current dilemma is that I’m not sure where to put it. I currently have it strapped
To my 1 gallon rotopax on the front box. Not sure how that will hold up. I have the lock and ride box in the back. Any suggestions. I have wires everywhere. Tried to post my pics but I’m having trouble doing so

QSC cluch kit review

I recently installed a QSC clutch kit from RVS performance and here is my review. For a 13 550 XP

I ordered my kit from Ryan at RVS and told him I wanted low end for work. I have Moto MTC tires in stock 26" size and they weigh around 33 lb each. I have been riding these tires for a year so I know how they feel.

I first put all of the springs in, secondary silver/orange and primary silver/green and I installed both shims to give the 2200 RPM "hit" and see what this clutch kit could do. I hated it! felt like I lost all of the low end and I was winding up a rubber band trying to get anywhere.

I went back and took all of the shims out. Didnt like it. Felt like stock pretty much.

I went back in and installed the 2000 RPM 1/8" shim. I liked it allot! predictable power, seemed to pull harder and very smooth engagement. But I had to see what the 1/16" shim felt like.

I went back in and installed the 1800 RPM 1/16" shim. This is what I was looking for. Very predictable power and pulls great. Smooth engagement. I like it just a bit better than the 1/8" shim.

I went down into my favorite mud hole and could not believe how this performs. Night and day? not really just different. It feels like I have more control of the power. I got stuck and filled the tires with mud. Hit the throttle and cleaned the tires and the thing jumped up out of there. I like it.

Wheelies? not happening. It’s a 550. Enough to make a difference? Yes!

I went from hating it to loving it.

Finding TDC on my 550

I am trying to find TDC by the book but I am having a little problem. It says to line up the marks with the top of the head with the white dots to the top on the sprocket. Also look in the hole and find the letters TDC to confirm I am at TDC. My problem is my sprocket has the marks to line up with the head but it doesn’t have the white dots to line up to the top. I have also looked in the alignment hole looking for the letters and I cannot see them anywhere. I have rotated the engine like a 100 times trying to find the letters and cannot. I believe I am at TDC because I did the screwdriver method and the piston is at the top and the rockers are sitting loose on top of the valves. Is this correct?
