Well, I added another horse to the stable two weeks ago. I switched to the darkside and bought a 2015 Can am XMR1000😱 lol. Of course I kept my 850XP, I love that thing and will probably keep it till the wheels fall off. I am not brand specific person I have a honda as well
Actually just thought I would share my thoughts on the XMR VS my sportsman 850. First thing I wish Polaris would do a mud machine for the sportsman like they do for the RZR that thing would be a beast (hint hint Polaris).
There are things I like about both machines and things I don’t like about both
Power steering imo Polaris has a better PS than canam. It just seems smoother
4×4. Hands down I love the 4×4 of Polaris best in the market. The Visco lock is good but you have to stay on the throttle or it unlocks wish canam would use Polaris system
Rider comfort again hands down Polaris I ride 50 miles and get up and do it all over again and want to ride more. The canAM obviously has 30" silverbacks and it does ride very well with the fox shocks just not as good as the XP.
Clutching. I love the stock clutching on the can am I can put it in reverse and not feel like it is revving to the moon before it engages. The can am is a lot smoother.
Love the XMR with 30" tires stronger diffs and axles lower gearing relocated radiator and few other differences than a stock outlander
looks. I think the XMR looks better than the XP just my personal opinion but the XMR looks friggen badass
Fit and finish. I would say a tie. I have looked over both machines and find manufacturing flaws or little things that I think could have been built better. Canam cheaped out like Polaris on the brakes, only the right rear wheel has a brake on it👿 and still only one brake lever on the left side, I would prefer two hand levers for front and rear.
These are just my opinions, and I was not trying to compare them apple to Apple they are different machines just share some of my thoughts about the two I love both machines and ride them both about the same not trying to say one is better than the other or sell one over the other
Hey guys. I have done some searching and I can’t seem to find many build photos of the snorkel kits with front cargo boxes. This is all I can find. Is there a way to snorkel without all that flex tubing taking up your cargo space? Are there any new ideas out there? Not sure I am sold on using a Triangle kit up in the light pod. Has anyone had airflow issues in the pod?
I’ve been chasing a bad starting and run issue for a while and now think I have found it.(with the help of this fourm)
When I turn the key on the pump sounds like it comes on but when I checked for fuel pressure at schrader valve there was none. Turned key on and off a few times with valve open but no fuel. Odd thing was when I cranked it over the fuel started to flow. Not sure why that is. Any Ideas on where to look other than connections??
tonight I’ll tear off front plastics off and check pump connection for 7 v and continuity to pump Wires A and C. Dose anyone know what wire C dose??
Why would it pump only when crank is turning, and not when key is first turned on.
2010 850 xp

My mechanic has suggested changing the tps sensor to solve my cold start problem (needs to be turned over sever times before it starts) 2010 850xp
Should I buy the 2010 sensor or the 2014 that needs a wiring mod to install. Just wondering if they came out with an updated one that dosn’t need a wiring mod??
Okay I’m really wanting a good some what fast, 4wd 4wheeler with good suspension, an I have found a used 2014 Sportsman XP® 850 H.O. EPS for $7,999 at a local polaris shop it has fox shocks on it an really nice, but I always hear bad about polaris how bad they mess up, have they fixed alot of problems by now. I know if your ruff on it of course it’s gonna break, an also what is the top speed on one?

I recently traded my Polaris 850 XP, I wanted a Rzr 900 but couldn’t believe they only offered a SIX month warranty. My 850 was a very reliable machine and had a lot of power. After trying out several different models, I went with the kawasaki teryx, why? because of the 3 year warranty and the option to extend it to 6 for 1500.
I have exclusively ridden Polaris for 20 years and this was a tough decision to make. I couldn’t pass up the warranty though. Happy riding all!!!!!
