I am trying to find TDC by the book but I am having a little problem. It says to line up the marks with the top of the head with the white dots to the top on the sprocket. Also look in the hole and find the letters TDC to confirm I am at TDC. My problem is my sprocket has the marks to line up with the head but it doesn’t have the white dots to line up to the top. I have also looked in the alignment hole looking for the letters and I cannot see them anywhere. I have rotated the engine like a 100 times trying to find the letters and cannot. I believe I am at TDC because I did the screwdriver method and the piston is at the top and the rockers are sitting loose on top of the valves. Is this correct?
Will it work? I have a blown 2009 engine and I bought a 2014 850ho engine and I just need the primary and secondary clutches for it. So will they work or not? Thanks.
when installing the QSC clutch kit on your XP what shim did you use for engagement? I finished my install today and first put both the shims. Only rode for a minute but I hated it engaging at 2200 RPM. I then tried it with no shims and engaging at 1600 RPM. I didnt like that either. Tomorrow I’m gunna try the 2000 and 1800 shims.
What did you end up setting the engagement to?
By the way the springs I got are Silver/orange on the secondary and silver/green on the primary
Since my 550XP is up to 11000 miles it is using a little oil and I cannot figure out where it is going. I used about 2.5-3 ounces in 300 miles of riding. If I just ride trails and keep the speed down it won’t do it but if I get out on the dirt roads and get above 20 it will use it. I just cannot figure out where it is going. The plug looks perfect for a 4 stroke with no signs of oil burning on it. I can wipe the exhaust with my finger and not one thing on it. No leaks around the motor either. Nothing in the air box. Not enough that I am going to worry about it but it just has me stumped. Anybody got any ideas. Compression good also.

Hello, I have 2010 850 with 3000 kms on it and 28 inch mudzillas. I have found that this year my quad feels like the adc is kicking in when going through mud and on flat ground. I am in 4×4 not the hill one. I allways go 4×4 and low gear when bogging. I am going to change my fluids just in case. I had put a new belt on last fall. it does not slip. On hard acceleration in 2wheel I will bring the front end up no problem. any help or suggestions would be great. thank you in advance.
Guys, sorry to ask I tried searching pretty extensively before posting, but has anyone got the glacier 1 system to work on the XP chassis (specifically 2010 Sportsman 550 x2)? What I found wasn’t really conclusive answers.
I have a brand new unused glacier 1 system from a previous atv and from everything I read it was a good and robust system where some people were having weld issues or bent tubes etc on the glacier II or III. Plus if I can save a few bucks because I already have it, even better.
