FrankenBoss…

Wanted to share a pic of my Trailboss creation… It’s a 2006..
Had for a few years like this and through all the trails, rocks, steep hills up and down, etc.. out here in the Mohave… It has never let me down and so comfortable I can ride all day..
It’s surprising how many parts are interchangeable amongst Polaris quads..
Scrambler bumper and full skid kit
Flares from sportsman
Wired in some HIDs to the factory switch..
Used the factory rack supports for bases. Just had to widen the holes a bit.
Nothing too major but I love it..
Next… predator hubs so I can step up to 25"

1990 trail boss 250

Bought 1990 Trail Boss 250 and I have a question or two. The previous owner remove oil tank so that I have to mix gas every time. Is that OK? I was reading something about how the oil tank lubricates before mixing with the gas. Second question is there a way to beef up the front brakes there not very strong. I base this off the fact that on motorcycles it’s the primary brake. Last my quad has no rear brake previous owner broke it and removed it. So I’m looking for a rear brake assembly what year and make quads have the same brake assembly.

87 trail boss swing arm issue

Well the swing arm shifts to the right. Thought it was a bad bushing but it’s not. The hole the bushing bolt goes in was all reamed out. Someone welded a washer to it once before and it reamed that out too. The bolt is stuck in the bushing and I can’t get it out. About to weld the damn bolt to the frame. Lol. Any suggestions????

1991 250 trail boss 2×4 4wd doesnt turn wheels

This was working last winter but just today we were in mud and I flicked the switch and the (scuse my lack of technical terms) ‘arms’ to the front wheels turn but the wheels don’t in the mud…? I can’t see why..

Has anyone any clues please. The only thing that’s happened since it last worked was the wheels were off to bleed the brakes.

The image shows the arms that move..

flywheel

I have a 1992 trailboss 350l 4×4. Bought it knowing flywheel was damaged and it had set around a while and previous owner had left area. Problem that has me stuck is I don’t think replacement flywheel fits correctly. Bought it on ebay and it was actually for 93. Both flywheels seem identical but replacement won’t go all the way up crank. Any help would be appreciated.

88 vs 89 Trail Boss 4X4 frame

Guys,

I have an 88 Trail Boss 4X4 that I’m attempting to get a snow plow for. The only mount that I’ve seen which might be close to fitting is for an 89 Trail Boss from Cycle Country. Can anyone tell me what the differences are between the lower parts of the frames between the two years? I see a difference on the top but the bottom section looks the same. Thanks
