Rear brakes?

Is it normal for a 2015 touring to have brakes only on one side? I’m assuming when the brakes are applied on the right side the diff works as a brake for the left?

2012 Polaris 550 xp problems

I will start off at the beginning, last Sunday I bought a 2012 550 and a 2012 850. The guy said the 550 smokes and the 850 has something stripped out in the transmission. Both have lots of aftermarket parts.

So to start off with the 550, when I went to buy it the guy had to give it throttle to start, but it did not smoke at all. It has snorkels and a rad relocate he said he never had it over the gas cap which is on the front fender, he said he put the snorkels on there mostly for the looks. The motors on both of them look like they haven’t ever been sunk so I don’t think it ever got water in the engine, and he said that he never had and he bought it new. Anyway, I brought them home rolled the 850 in the shed and started the 550 but I did have to give it throttle.
He only drove it twice last year so I was going to drain the gas but then learned I have to pump it out, which I don’t have. So I just left it in it, it would only smoke if I throttled it hard and it still wasn’t bad. It runs good once it warms up good, I went for a ride yesterday and the gas indicator started blinking so I took it home, then let it sit a few hours and the gas gauge went back to 2 bars.

#2: I then went out to start it and if I gave it no throttle it would try to start but if I gave it any throttle it would lightly backfire through the air filter. And if I cranked very long it would say on the screen: lo9.6, and would slowly drop if I kept cranking it, so I figured it was telling me it had a low battery. So I pushed it in the shed and put a charger on it, went out this morning put gas an sea foam in it and let it pump twice. Just giving it no throttle it would do nothing, so I gave it a little throttle. And boom! It backfired real loud through the muffler, so I turned of the the key waited a few seconds and and tried to start it again and all it does is click, click, click ect…

This is my first Polaris and my first efi atv and the newest atv I have ever worked on or owned so I know nothing about all the sensors and all the electric stuff which is on them. I am really lost on what I should do.

What do yall experts think it is??? Oh yeah on the ride yesterday I got up to about where the black part of the floor boards ends and where the green fender starts in water, don’t know if this has anything to do with it but figured I would make sure yall now. Thanks in advance!

Where does this go

2007 sportsman 500ho. E.f.i.

I’ve had this since new. Only person who has touched it has been dealers.

Where should this hose be going too?

It comes up between the engine and rear axle by the airbox. I followed it as far as I could and it gets lost down by rear brake master cylinder and front props haft somewhere

Older Sportsman Front Storage

Looking to ideas for a front storage box of some kind on the older model sportsman’s. Was thinking about mounting a couple ammo cans of some kind. I do not want to block the pod light and must be low profile so I can use my guns racks mounted to my rack extender. I know there are plenty of creative riders out there. Thanks
Has anyone tried anything like this. It comes in 2 sizes the picture is the smaller on its 19×15.75×5.25

radiator fan fuse or breaker?

Hey so I have a 2013 sportsman 500ho . Ran a derby over the weekend and i guess where the fan sits got packed with mud stopping the fan from turning. The quad started to overheat and i realized what happened cleaned area out fan still didnt work. Took it all apart added 12v to fan still no go. My question is, is there no fuse or circuit breaker to kill the fan to prevent it from killing it self trying to turn when full of mud?

Underpowered 500 sportsman year 2000

I have a 2000 sportsman 500, it has been a very reliable machine. Taking it in the road, it seems underpowered and although I have the thumb throttle is fully pressed.i won’t reach full power and seems very noisy around the air intake box, I have had it serviced to try and cure the problem, new spark plug, ht lead, new air filter, carb cleaned and serviced, any help would be appreciated,

2015 Sportsman 850 acceleration

——————————————————————————–

Hey all I have a question I purchased an 15 850 Sportsman a few months back and last night took for a little burn and wanted to see how fast it would go at wide open throttle approx. 58 through about 70 it was surging/bucking/bogging this is my first 850 I also have a 10 Sportsman 500 touring. I guess question do these machines have some kind of governor??? Or may they be a problem??? Thanks!!!! BTW I know really should be going that fast.

Clutch engagement / slipping gear box, help

I have had a 2011 XP 850 Touring for about a week now. It was doing the hard engagement in reverse and a little bit in high. I’ve owned a dozen different Sportsmans but never had this issue. I figured it was due to the belt slipping so I got a new Highlifter 3GX and now it’s worse than ever. The quad is actually jerking in forward and still really hard in reverse. I know how to change belts, and I know it’s on right. It almost seems like the gear case is slipping and jumps in and out.
Advice anyone PLEASE. I love this machine and don’t want it to be a money pit. There less than 1,600 miles on it.
