I have a 2000 sportsman 500. The starter won’t engage. I used to bypass the solenoid with a screwdriver because it wouldn’t start with the button but now when I do that it just sparks the solenoid. I figured it was the starter so I replaced it with a new one (the old starter was warn out) and I also took the bendix out and cleaned and lubed it. when I turn the key on all the lights and stuff work so I figured It wasnt the battery but just to be safe I tried a differect battery still nothing.
PLEASE HELP. THANK YOU
Just bought an 05 Sportsman 500 from a salvage yard and was wondering how I can check the VIN to find out some history and if any recall work was done on the quad. I’ve searched all over and can’t find a vin check website that actually works. Tried on the Polaris site also and it doesn’t recognize the serial number. Any siggestions?
I have 28" Swamplites on my 2012 Sportsman 850 XP. I do a lot of trail riding and occasionally mud rides. I was looking at 28 to 30" Terms. Anyone know anything about Terms or something similar to that and have pictures of tires on their 850 for me to look at?
I recently purchased a 2011 Sportsman 550 Touring EPS. On my wife’s first trip in the passenger seat she was not very happy as she got a badly bruised back. I investigated and found that the metal frame of the seat back had torn through the foam padding. I went to the dealer and he has offered me a replacement (for $40 or $50) from another used machine. Also I tried to email a couple of pictures to the company for their information but could not find any Customer Service email to send to. Is the torn seat foam a common problem? Is there an email address that gets me to the company? I tried the site and it was convoluted and evasive. They don’t seem to want direct contact with customers.
I bought a new to me bike last week – a 2006 Sportsman 800 X2. It has 26-inch tires on the front and back. Went for a nice trip in Southern Alberta last weekend and everything worked fine (light snow, mud / rocks). When we got home, I washed it down. Took a ton of mud and rock off the bike. Weird thing is – when I started my bike to put it away, it went into any gear, but didn’t move very fast at all (like the clutch was slipping). I shut it off and let it sit for a minute and started it again. It did the same thing until I revved it up to 5k, then it sped up. Now it seems to work normally again. Thoughts?
