This 4-wheeler set up for while before I bought it. I cleaned the carb and it starts and idles fine but won’t rev up when I give it gas. If I put it in gear and try to give it gas it dies. Any thoughts on this?

I had to pull the engine out of my 01 500 sportsman I drained the oil and coolant. Now I have it back together I was wondering which coolant to use. I know a good synthetic oil but which weight. For the south. I did try to search for both but doesn’t seam to want to work. Any help would be great. I have a filter number is there on that you guys prefer?

2010 sportsman 500 everything was working good at home went riding and it got dark went to flip on headlights and nothing low or hi beam then also noticed neither does the tail lights work either. the pod light works on dash and also the over ride button and the kill switch (odd). So I buy a new switch thinking its that. Wrong same thing. I run a jumper wire that controls the low beam at the switch to a toggle switch and they come on and stay on. All fuses up front seem good but don’t know if there is anymore of them. Totally lost here all the help would be great

I have a 2012 sportsman 500 HO that is leaking fluid from the front end of the machine. I am pretty sure it is the front gear case. My question is does that just mean that I cannot use the 4 wheel drive feature? Will it still run and function properly or is this something that needs to be fixed ASAP? Any idea what causes this or how to fix it?

Anyone know where to get new rear shocks and springs for a ’99 Sportsman 500?

Hi. New here but have been visiting for a while.
I have a 2010 sportsman 500 ho carb.
The problem I am having is that above 4000 rpm the bike starts bucking up and down, not backfiring but seems like it runs ok then doesn’t. The more throttle I give it the worse it gets To the point of no power at all. From start up to 4000 rpm you wouldn’t know there is anything wrong as long as I don’t go to full throttle . When I pulled the spark plug it was black carbon coated, not thick, just black.
So far I have changed the plug, new air filter and fuel filter and no change. It does not make any difference if I pull the choke when it is acting up. Any thoughts would be great.

I have sportsman 500 1996 model that don’t have but 1263 miles on it looks almost new the 4 wd module or rpm limiter is out part # 4060135 they tell me this part is no longer available is there some way you can by pass this or is there an after market limiter you can buy or do I just junk it out HELP!!!

I replaced the carb on the wife’s 400 and it requires me to use the choke to get any rpm out of it. Idles a little high and if I give some throttle it dies unless I use the choke. Then it runs good with choke pulled. Any adjustment I can do? I think I can get the idle down maybe with cable adjusting [tried the thumb screw @ bottom of carb] but it’s the use of choke that has me baffled.

I need a new Bendix on my 01 500. Found some on eBay anyone had any luck with them or the starters. The have a kit you get both for 59.00 thanks
