I have a 99 sportsman 500 with a 40 millimeter carburetor on it. With the four wheeler in neutral and I tried to give it gas it sputters and bogs down. As I take the lid and air filter off it’s somewhat straightens out. But as soon as I put the air filter on again, it starts to act up. The exhaust coming off of the thing. Took off the spark plug and it is black as the ace of spades. I completely rebuilt the carburator last year. Took apart the carburetor again last night and everything looks clean, this one has got me pretty stumped, any advice would be helpful

Hey guys, I my fourhweeler just started spitting/sputtering/and back firing out of nowhere. When I first crank it sometimes it does not want to crank but when it does it runs fine for about 15 minutes then starts acting up, it acts like its not getting fuel. When i turn it off and then crank it again it will run fine for a few minutes and then start again. Just wondering if anybody might have delt with this and can point me in the right direction.
The other weekend while riding my atv I had the headlights on and while the four wheeler was at idle and I was using the lights to find some things on the ground they just went out and won’t turn back on.
I have checked the fuses under the front rack and they are all good. I have not checked to see if the brake light was working still but none of the headlights work.
Does anyone have an idea at to what the problem may be?
I have a 2007 polaris sportsman 800 stealth edition and took it riding for the weekend for the first time since i bought it. The bike is in excellent shape very low hours and miles. 30 min into the ride i went over some small bumps(really slow) got back on the trail started riding and started to hear a sqeaking noise everytime i started to accelerate? I could not pin point exactly where the noise was comming from nor could i see anything wrong under the bike. I washed it immediatley after i rode and started it up to pull it on the trailer and no squeaking noise?? Could anybody tell me what possibly is the issue?
Anyone know the stator size of the 2008 HO EFI? Just curious as to whether it has the standard 200w 19A stator like the carb models or if it was beefed up to the 560w 40A stator being that it has to run a few extras like the fuel pump. Looking at reducing the draw with some HID and LED light kits but trying to see if that’s a necessity if in fact I have the larger stator factory installed.
