Sportsman 850 vs Scrambler 850

I have a Sportsman 570 and I’m thinking to upgrade for a Sportsman 850 XP touring or the scrambler 850. I haven’t tried any of them yet.

90% of the time I’m using federal trail and I’m driving an average of 300 km to 400 km in a day. Trail are part are most of the time made in gravel, rocky road, compact dirt trails. Occasionally we go in the deep bush and go across beaver dams in deep water and mud. When I can, I like to keep an average or 40 mile or more when it is possible. I like to have the sensation of gliding on the rocks.

I’m looking for comfort and performance. I like to go faster to cover longer distance during my ATV trip.

I heard the Scrambler with Fox shock is an excellent atv. But the only thing that I less like is the cargo space.

I wonder If I getting the Sportsman 850 XP can provided me as much as the Scrambler seem to give or it is only my perception?

I like my little 570 sportsman but I need a better suspension and more power.

I asking myself if changing a Sportsman for another Sportsman will be that different???

What would be your choice?

I’m not here to offend anyone with my theory, and I could be totally wrong about I’m think. Base on few video on Youtube, it seem the Scrambler look so easy to lift the front end in the deep water or mud. Look like, he has too much power in the rear differential. It lift it like a rocket. That kind of scare me. It all depend about the driver too. The Sportsman seem to provide a better power from the rear to the front a better traction.

I like to have your opinion base from your experience pls
Thanks guys

08 500 HO Runs rouh

Recently had shop rebuild carb on 08 Sportsman500 HO. New plug, air filter. Had to rig choke cable by cutting so inner cable would move to slide enrichener off. Was sticking in original dash mounted form. Still have slight low end miss, and occasional high end miss. Possible vacuum leak, I’m thinking. Where do I look for leak or any suggestions on what might be causing this? Thanks

Richocet armor and Polaris front brush guard

I have a 2014 sportsman 850 XP. Ordered the full ricochet armor kit for underneath. I also have a front Polaris OEM brush gaurd installed. Has anyone attempted to put on "correctly" the armor? Seems I may have to drill some more holes or use some type of clamp to get the two to fit together. I called Ricochet and they didn’t have an answer. I can’t be the only one installing armor on a machine w an OEM brush guard.

What’s your ball size?

Just got this 700 grizz and I’m adding a hitch ball on the back just for the sake of having a good trailer tie down point. Not sure what I’d be towing with the bike in the future but I suppose I’d like to get whatever ball size would be most common on the things I’d be likely to tow with an ATV.

So which size yall think would be best…1 7/8", 2", or 2 5/16" ?

’99 Sportsman 500 alternative belt?

I own a Polaris Sportsman 500 made in late 1999, i have a serious problem with the belts, i’ve changed 2 of them in the last 3 months! i always go to a licensed reseller and workshop and they say the transimission is normal and it’s normal that i break them so often since i use it a lot, but on the other side they say a belt should last 400-600 kilometers (and i didn’t done 400 km).
Since i’m tired to spend 150€ for a god damn belt that last half minute i was wondering if there are other belts that has a nice price/quality
