Hi all I have a 2006 sportsman 500 efi with ebs and want to understand it better … I live in B.C where everything local to me is steep grades and I love hill climbs but hate the ass end lock up on the way back down the hills !
isn’t that what the ebs is for ?
my 09 canam 800 was awesome coming down the hills (no lock up ass end)
am I missing something hear?
mabey clutch rebuild …. or is there something that can be done to the machine to have smooth ebs decents?
I’ve been fixing my 97 Sportsman, finally down to the last bugaboo: Shifter is frigged. I can either get reverse and fwd low range, or fwd low and hi, but no reverse. I can’t find a replacement shifter, my mechanic has given up on fixing it. Anyone have a handle on a shifter that would fit, or how to fix the old one? Part number 3233458 handle subasm no longer available.

I am considering installing a switch to have the ability to turn off the rear tail lights. There are times, when in the woods hunting, that I would prefer to not have them on. I am sure I can trace the wiring, and figure a place to break into it to install a switch. I am wondering if anyone else has tried this, and may have any suggestions on where/how to mount the switch.
I believe I remember seeing somewhere on here that you can use a fan from a Ford Taurus on our sportsman’s. Is this true and if so are there any years of the Taurus I need to get? My fan is shot.
I have a 96 polaris magnum 425 and i am looking to gain some power. I seen where people said if you jet you carb that it will have a nice power gain but what else can i do to gain some power? What performance will a epi sport utility clutch kit add? When i jet the carb do i need a 500 carb or keep my 425 carb?
Also should i go with mega mayhems in a 27 or zillas in a 27
