I just bought a the 05 sportsman 800 efi, it is the first polaris I have owned. It seems to run well but it also seems to get pretty warm. When riding you can feel quite a bit of heat coming out on the right side by your leg. It has never flashed any sort of overheating warning (which I am assuming it will if it overheats), so I am just wondering if anyone with a similar machine can let me know if this is normal for it to seem that warm or not?
I did spray out the radiator, check the coolant and made sure the fan was running. All seems to be running as it should.

I just bought a 2013 Sportsman 500 from an older woman sight unseen.
It was a hell of a deal & I didn’t want to pass it up, but she’s a couple hundred miles away & I won’t be able to go pick it up (or even look at it for that matter) until Friday, so I wired her some cash knowing that it wouldn’t last too long.
My question is, was this machine available from the factory with power steering?
She said it has power steering, which I’ve never had, so I am a little curious about it.
After some research I can’t find anything about a 2013 with power steering? I found some aftermarket kits, but that’s about it.
If it does indeed have power steering, I’m wondering if it’s electronic, and also questioning the reliability of such a setup (especially if it’s an aftermarket setup)
My quad runs normal almost all the time except it stalls sometimes suddenly when I go up a steep hill when I need extra power or I go around a small steep embankment. It will start right up when it does this. It’s a very intermittent problem but it does this at all the wrong places..read the forums but be honestly it could be a whole bunch of things..Is this a issue that could be fixed or something to be concerned about? Also any idea why the front light up on top my wires were cut to the headlight and I do not see where they go to. Very strange. The push button already has wires to it and I did not see any other cut wires..
I have a 2006 Sportsman 700 EFI and sometimes the idle runs rough and it hesitates when pushing on the throttle. Other times it runs perfect. Anyone have suggestions to why it idles rough and run rough periodically?
Thanks.
I have a 2006 Sportsman 500. I just started noticing that the fuel level LED on the control panel is blinking on/off. All other LEDs are constant, it is just the fuel level and the little icon for the fuel (gas pump). Also, when I turn on the bike, sometimes it reports empty for a minute or so, and then it goes up to the proper level. I’m guessing something in the sensor is broken. Can anyone suggest how to go about verifying the problem and fixing this?

I have a 2006 Sportsman 500. I see fuel flowing up/down what I believe is the fuel overflow tube. It is a clear plastic tube (maybe 1/4 inch) that goes up into the area where the speedometer and headlight are located. Is this normal?
I occasionally smell a bit of gas too, especially after a lot of shaking. It isn’t leaking gas onto the ground that I can see, so it isn’t a major leak.
I read some other threads about this maybe being caused by the carb float level? I was hoping to get some background on this problem. I bought my ATV new, and haven’t ever touched the carb. It runs fine, but I was just concerned about the occasional smell of gas, and noticed this fuel running in/out of this overflow line.
