I know, I know…another tire and wheel question. It should go in the tire/wheel forum…but I wanted 570 specific answers, so here I am.
I’ve done the math and even drawn a few pictures. I think I’ve found a way to upgrade tires and wheels with no need for spacers, no rubbing, and keeping the 570 at 50". I just want to run the setup by you all to see if there is any additional input or something I’ve missed.
12×7 4+3 wheels up front
12×7 5+2 wheels in back
27×9-12 tires up front
27×11-12 tires in back
The wheels I’ve found are 12 lbs each and Zillas are 21.5 and 24.3 in those sizes. Minimal weight increase so I’m hoping to delay a clutch kit at this point.
The front and rear setup should each match the factory setup in terms of amount of tire inside of the hub and are each +1" on the outside.
I found another setup that would work with DWT Sector 3 wheels with 12" tires in back…but I’m not paying for DWT Sector 3 wheels.
After having the bike for not even a month, the codes 520 294 7 and 520 194 2 both were giving me problems. After 2 trips to the dealer, they finally just re-flashed the computer and the bike seems to be running fine. First it was a throttle issue then it was the computer apparently. I’m just glad the bike came with a warranty. So many problems right out of the box. Don’t get me wrong, I love my bike, I wouldn’t want any other one on the market, I just wish they weren’t so problematic.
I have seen a few posts with first impressions and reviews of the 2015 570 SP and its new features, but I didn’t see any comments on some of the updates I notice from my 2014 570 to my 2015 570 SP.
One of the first things I noticed is that the seat cover material is different. It isn’t the smooth leather looking vinyl like my ’14. I don’t know how to describe it, but it is more like a wetsuit material (buy still some sort of vinyl). It looks and feels different. I haven’t looked closely yet to see if there are any structural differences to help prevent the melting issues some people have reported (I haven’t had that particular issue with my ’14).
The second thing I noticed is that the speedo/headlight pod is different. I’m not sure if this is just because it is an SP, or if they changed it for ’15. It has blue LED lighting and is more square. It is subtle, but I like it. They also moved the 12V accessory outlet from the left side to the front where the choke was on older models. There is no longer a hole on the left.
This one is minor, I don’t even know if it is an improvement, but the radiator support in my ’14 is made from black powder coated steel. The ’15 uses an anodized steel support.
Another pleasant surprise is that the gas tank vent tube has been re-routed :applaus:. I had the issue with my ’14 570 that many others had – the smell of gas from gas in the vent tube escaping under the light pod. I am crossing my fingers that this change fixes the problem. I didn’t have time to open anything up to see where they routed it to, but it is very clearly not in the same spot anymore.
I will post if I find other things. I just got it this morning and only had time to ride it around for about 10 minutes to ensure everything is working properly. I will be taking it out tomorrow, so I will be able to find out if any other issues have been corrected.
Overall I am very excited about my new machine. My sons will be riding the old one. Originally I was going to get them a 570 or ETX, but then decided to get a new machine for myself instead ;).
Hey all,
Going tommorow to sign papers on my ’15 570 valueline – just curious on my winch options. i had planned on getting a Polaris 2500HD winch, dealer installed – but I have heard good things on the KFI stealth series. if i got a KFI, would I need a mounting kit too? and are there any downfalls of the Polaris branded winch that the KFI would overcome?

I have a 2015 polaris sportsman touring 570. I’ve only had 8t for about a month now and every time I get into water somehow water is getting down into my airfilter box. Is anyone else having this problem? Anyway I can rig it up so water and dirt can’t get down in there?
Thanks
