Installing aftermarket gauges…I want to see your DIY gauge install!

I am going to install a voltmeter gauge on my 570. Has anyone here installed a 2" analog gauge in the headlight pod? I am wondering if there is enough space under the pod to accomodate the gauge without hitting the handlebars. I have seen pics online, and it appears workable (on a 500 anyway) but before I dive in I am seeking some first hand accounts.

If anyone has any specific recommendations for a 1.5" as opposed to 2" voltmeter gauge (not even sure if anyone makes one) I’d be interested in that too. I am aware of the wide array of digital voltmeters, and am still teetering on just getting a Koso ultra slim digital voltmeter gauge (google it, I couldn’t get the amazon.com link to work properly) mounting it with double side tape, and calling it a day. But I like the idea of being able to monitor electrical load and behavior of an analog needle, as well as the more professional look of an in-the-pod install.

Ideas? I’m sure the forum here is ripe with DIY’ers who are proud to show me their gauge setups. If I can successfully fit a 2" gauge in the lower corner of the pod, I just may install a water temp gauge on the opposite side as well…

Thanks

Planning on getting a 570. Have questions

I am planning on getting a 570 by spring or the summer, and I don’t know if the power steering is a needed option or if it’s something I could do without? Also I am wondering if anybody has had any issues with the 2015 or 2016 570s? I was reading a thread on here about problems some were having with the 2014s and don’t want to have those with a new machine. What does the warranty that comes with them cover and is an extended warranty worth buying?

Leaking Front Diff, Not sure on my next move.

So I ran my ATV into some deep snow this morning, and as I put on AWD, and reversed out, I smelt fireworks. I know nobody was lighting fireworks at 7AM so I checked the ATV and found my front diff had a small leak.

The drive shaft is firm, and it isn’t dripping, the oil is only noticeable on the diff housing(though i did my best to go slow and w/o 4×4 on my way home).

Just like to know what my process would be to fix it, how hard to do, part cost, and if it’d be worth it to bring it into a shop.

Thanks in advance,

Close Ratio AWD – Difference between my 570 SP vs 570 EPS

Now that it’s winter I’ve been able to notice another distinct difference between my 2015 570 SP vs 570 EPS, the close-ratio AWD. I notice it while driving around on roads where there’s a mix of dry pavement and snow/ice.

The non-SP 570 stutters and jerks a bit as wheel slip occurs and traction is engaged in the front. The 570 SP acts totally different. I feel zero slip/stutter/jerk. It’s quite a pronounced difference, and especially noticed when driving uphill. I’m attributing this to the close-ratio awd on the SP where the engagement to the front traction happens faster. My SP has larger tires (26" vs 25") too, so that might have something to do with it.

Anyway… This doesn’t change my overall opinion that the 570 EPS is preferable to the SP due to the savings in $$$, the fact that ADC (SP) is almost irrelevant with the 570 EPS’ stout engine braking, the better size (12") wheels, and better performance of the EPS (probably due to smaller wheels).

Front axels coming out.

I noticed today my front Axel had worked its way out of the diff not all the way but I could see 10 mm of spline. I do have heavy duty springs but its not lifted that much that the axels are short. I was able to push it back in with ease and out again but it doesn’t seem to click in. Same on the other side I was able to pull it out and push back in. Is this normal?? And by the way how do I remove axel do I have to take the bottom A frame off that bolt at the bottom of the shock/strut

New wheels and tires

Got some new wheels and tires today,
Went with 26" big horn originals on Sti 14" wheels. added about 50 lbs to the bike, seriously considering a clutch kit. Feel like I lost some low end. Can’t figure out how to post pics!

570 dash problem

I put 2 links on for the picture if they don’t work let me know and I will try it again i’m new to the forum and usually don’t post. I crank my 570 up and it does this for 5-10 miles and sometimes the whole time or on and off I have taken it to the shop several times and they say they cant verify it now I have evidence and plan on taking it back but has anyone had this problem and what was the fix I have had several problems with this atv since I bought it on Halloween and Polaris has gave me a 48 month warranty for free its been back at least every 2 weeks since I have owned it

Increasing my carrying capacity

Bought a new 570 Hunters Edition over the holidays. If I want to increase my cargo capacity with HD springs, should I be concerned with the frame not being able to handle an increase in load? I like to be able to get to the specs of the 850 but I don’t want the frame and subframe to break. Anyone have experience with this?

New 570 owner with plow question

Just purchased a 2016 Sportsman 570 with Glacier Pro plow system. This is my first ATV with a plow so I am sure I have some learning ahead of me. I have yet to pick up the unit as the dealer is prepping it and installing the winch and plow. With that being said, I already found a deal I couldn’t resist on a Polaris power angle setup on EBay.

That brings me to my question. Anyone using the power angle on a Sportsman? I noticed the kit recommends purchasing the controller that installs on the shifter but I want to be able to control the winch and angle on the fly with my left hand. So I’ll get to my questions, any help is appreciated. Looking forward to running the new machine. Thanks

1) Is a left/right switch included with the power angle kit?

2) Anyone have ideas/pics of their switch install on the left bar?
