Hello everyone. I have two sportsman 570s with EPS and EFI. They’ve been pretty good so far really, save the cluster going out, something about a throttle cable once, and a few other things. On one of the units, I’m experiencing what seems to be an electrical issue. At any random time, for no reason, the unit will shut off, but the cluster will remain lit. All the information is still available. This happens typically twice a day with a total of an hour and a half of riding. After going to the diagnostic section of the cluster, there is a big zero, a code of 1268, and a small three at the bottom. Through the service manual I was able to verify that the diagnostic code meaning. Something about the driver ignition coil shorting to battery 12 voltage. Like I said, this happens with no warning at all, and when I try to start it when it cuts off, without shutting the key off, it does not start. It only cranks. Once I shut the key off, it start right up again. Does anyone care to help me find the issue here?
First I must say John at guru bumpers went above and beyond for me. I have a guru front bumper that was made for a 2015 570, original buyer decided to go a different route. I have a 2014 570. I found out after I purchased the mounts are different. I contacted John to confirm the differences and he sent me the correct mounts and bolts to weld on to fit mine for FREE. But I’m unsure of how the bottom mounts work. I think I got the upper figured out but the bolts he sent seem short. So I am hoping someone can post some good pics of the lower mounts and upper from a couple different angles maybe.

I bought a new 2015 sportsman 570 eps efi 082215. It had less than a mile on it. I drove it to test it out. I had put 3 miles on it. On 090915 I took a trip to San Isabel, Greenhorn Mountain and rode it on trails . We stopped for a rest and noticed the center of the left rear tail lens had melted. I called the dealer service department and the tech told me they have only had one other do this due to leaving the brake on. I advised them I used the engine braking mostly and it should not have happened. They are covering the replacement. There is a history of polaris atv tail lamp/lens heat problems. With only 33 miles on it this thing melted. The consumer product safety commission has other cases of similar problems. Buyers beware! I wonder if they have any intention of fixing this serious issue!? Ridiculous.
I just bought a 2015 570 sportsman and am looking into getting an extended warranty. Does anyone have any suggestions on what company to purchase one through?
First off let me say that I like my 570 however I’ve been having lots of problems(leaking headlight, grease fittings falling off) . Now my big problem is that it will occasionally act like the battery is low. It will hardly crank and sometimes I have to turn key multiple times to finally to get it to crank. All symptoms of a bad battery. I now have my 3rd battery in it and problem still exist. All electronics power up fine and even if I have headlights are on they don’t even dim yet engine will barely crank. Took it to dealer and they said everything checked out ok and It was most likely a battery issue. Any ideas on what it might be? Thanks!
