And….another 3 light mod

Bought the $9 eBay kit. Did the install in 20 minutes. This was the diode mod. I figure I saved 40 watts with the LED tail light, added 55 watts with the pod light being on. So +15 watts. Hope the stator can handle it. Hell, I don’t have hand warmers or any other accessories. We’ll see how it holds up. I don’t think I’ll use High (3 lights) for plowing. So this is just for the occasional after-dark run around. Already swapped the lights for Xenons.

how far on tank of fuel?

I am a keep it full guy and never get a good idea of my range. I have a big trip planned and was hoping for some ideas of what other 570’s are getting.
I know that it will vary obviously based on speed and terrain. Just looking for and all around average.
Thanks

2780 mile review

So far I have nothing bad to say about the machine. I do have the heat problem but it is not even noticeable when riding in long pants. The gas tank does have the pressure build up in it and I get a few bubbles in the vent line when I work the machine pretty hard. I get a little gas smell from time to time but not enough to worry about it. An easy fix would to be to vent the gas cap and I have the parts I just have not gotten around to doing it yet. I am getting almost 28mpg which I like and a couple of days I got a little better than that. I can live with that all day long. I fixed all but one little rattle and it seems to be the hardest one to pinpoint. One day it is there and the next day it isn’t. I will find it and eventually get it fixed. My seat has the gap in it most people talk about. That is my next thing to fix on it I just need to get some time to figure out a fix. I think it is because the middle of my seat does not touch the frame and when I sit on it the middle bows down and pulls the front in causing the gap. So far not one problem of any kind and it starts right up every time and the stock battery is holding its own and has not given up yet.
Here are the fluids I am running in the machine now.

Motor-Royal Purple 5W40
Front Hilliard-Mobile 1 synthetic ATF
Tranny-5W20 motor oil
Stock air filter

Skid Plate Install

I decided to pull the trigger on Iron Baltic skid plates. I wanted the added protection without the screech noise associated with metal over rocks. I placed my order Sunday, the parts shipped DHL on Monday and arrived Wednesday.

I kinda wish I installed them before I went out ridding but who can resist the urge to hit the trails after purchasing a new ATV?!

Product: Iron Baltic Skid Plate (Full Kit)
Application: 2015 Polaris Sportsman 570 EPS

First order of business, inventory.

Parts all came with number stickers that coordinated with the installation instructions. This was very convenient during the install.

I had to gain access to the underside so I opted to use the ramps rather than attempt to do a wheelie in the garage.

I cleaned the underside and touched up a few minor rust spots. Again, should have installed the skids prior to riding.

Removed factory A-Arm guards and began installing the brackets. It was a little tricky getting the washer/nut combo inside some of the frame so I used petrol to assist with keeping them together.

The only other tricky part of installing a few pieces was getting the fasteners started. I had to push up on the skids enough to thread into the brackets. Once one was started I could tighten down enough to draw the skid closer for the next fastener install.

Splicing multiple plates together.

Final product.

Total duration was about 3 hours. That’s after I cleaned and prepped the underside. Minimal frustrations, no fabrication required. The skid plates are much thicker than I anticipated.

So far I’m pleased with the quality of the product and ease of installation. The real test is getting out there on the trails.

I’m not sure how susceptible the bolts will be to backing out. I may loctite them or put a dab of RTV on there as a precautionary measure.

LED loght bar for brush guard

Hi guys, I dirve a 15 570SP with factory brush guard. Looking for a good quality LED light bar to place on the brush guard. I hear and read there are better options than the Polaris 12" LED bar. What is everyone using and what was the price?
Easy to install?
Really looking to place on the factory mounting holes on the brush guard.
Thanks
