2015 Sportsman 570 Tires??

Hi, I have a 2015 Sportsman 570 EPS. I am looking for some help in choosing a good replacement tire for my stock OEM Carlisle AT489 tires (front 25X8-12, Rear 25X10-12). I ride mostly coal trails year round, which includes some mud and snow; nothing to extreme.
I want to stay with the same size wheels and tires. (I am considering upgrading to ITP Delta steel wheels at the same time.)
I don’t want to have to perform any modifications, i.e. clutch upgrades. I don’t want tires that will overly stress the drive train or reduce drive ability (drastically reduce power or ride comfort). I would like something with good puncture resistance.

I have read and re-read the forums many times trying to decide and have a few choices in mind. I am considering the Kenda Bearclaw HTR (but the website doesn’t list there weight) or maybe the STI Black Diamonds XTR.

I am leaning to radials for what it’s worth, but thought I would reach out to you guys to see what you recommend. If I decide to go with the Kenda Bearclaws where do you recommend to buy them?

Please let me know what your thoughts are based on actual experience.

If I put this in the wrong section of the forum please feel free to move it.

Thank you for your help.

Few Questions + New Tires !

So, I just got my new tires n’ rims from Canadasmotorcycle.ca. Went with the 26" Kenda Bearclaw HTR’s and Delta Steel rims as they didn’t really have to be special. Must say the tires sure do have some grip to em + they are huge compared to my stock Carlisles. I will post a review on them once I have about 1-2000km on em as only time will tell how i like em.

As for questions,
After I put the new tires & rims on, I noticed a lot of movement side to side in the wheel when I shook them. Mainly only the rear tires, and when I ride, if I turn quickly and back straight, it feels like the rear end is swaying. Would this be the wheel bearings ? or should I be looking at something else.

Also hearing a squealing/whining while on the throttle. It only comes while I’m moving over 15km/h(nothing in neutral or park) and like I said above, only when on the throttle. If I let off it’s gone. Have a feeling it’ll be Belt or clutch as that’s(to the best i can hear while riding) where it sounds like its coming from.
For Christmas I plan on treating myself to a clutch kit so if the squealing ends up being the belt, it’ll be replaced when that is installed or it breaks.

Lastly(I think), after being lazy and never topping up my battery, there had been some problems starting, flickering lights, and a funky idle. I decided to take it out while I was changing the tires and, well I should have done this months ago. She was pretty low, and now that its all filt up, starts as if it was brand new, and no more of the above problems. This is a questions, as instead of having to care about keeping the battery filled, I might get a sealed one after the winter, which batteries have you guys & gal’s used for replacements on the 570 ? Royal Distributing has a "high performance" Yuasa for an alright price, plus it’s a quick drive.

Sorry about the story length of writing here, have nothing better to do. If ya’ll could help my out that’d be pretty cool. I’ll post pics soon of new tires.
Thanks in advance.

EPS – 570SP vs 570 (need input from SP owners)

I had another thread going about my power steering on my 2015 570SP. As it turns out, Polaris says the 570SP is "working as designed".

The issue, for the most part, is that in 4WD the EPS system essentially loses/drops power at about 1/4-1/2 turn, making it feel as if you have manual steering past that point. In 2WD you have EPS all the way while your turning the bars. I feel it, the service manager feels it, and the asst. service manager feels it on my SP. They were all surprised. After the dealer took the issue to a Polaris tech (phone) all they would say is that it’s "working as designed" and that it’s to prevent damage to suspension parts when in 4WD. That sounds like a load of B.S. to me.

That said….I also have a 2015 570 EPS (NON-SP) and the power steering is very different – It acts the same in 4WD as it does in 2WD. I like the non-SP steering a lot better.

So I’m going to pick up my SP from the shop tomorrow. The service manager has a brand new "SP" for me to compare to. He said he rode the new SP and it does exactly what my SP does – EPS dropping power while in 4WD turning…."as designed".

If this is true – they maybe Polaris does this for the SP because of the dual A-Arm suspension up front? Or maybe it’s because the close-ratio 4WD kicks on a lot more and could cause damage in conjunction with EPS? I’m told that the Polaris EPS system is the most sophisticated of all the systems – taking multiple inputs the steering position, forces against tire, etc, etc. So maybe they did program the EPS software to act differently for SPs?

Bottom line is that I MUCH prefer the steering in on my non-SP.

My question to you SP owners – Do you all feel that EPS power-drop on your machine?

Front end alignment settings?

My steering pulls to the right when the bars are straight, so I need to not only straighten things, but also make sure the tow-in is set properly.

What are the proper settings for this quad? 2014 non-EBS Sportsman 570.

I plan to use the string method to get things aligned, but I don’t know what the proper setting for the Tow is…
