Just like the title says. I want to put a Xplorer 400 transmission on because my transmission is cracked and I have a plow for it so I figure the low range will be good. Has anyone done this I heard it almost bolts in. Any input or knowledge of any sort is appreciated.
Thanks, Rob
Hey guys I just recently rebuilt my polaris scrambler 400 and now Im having an overheating issue. It blows the coolant out the overflow and actually blew the overflow hose off.
I have read about a bleeder valve on top of the engine (did not know about this or how to do it)
Recently replace water pump and everything so I knows it’s not that. This bleeder valve I thought the radiator would bleed the cooling system as normal cars etc.. Am I wrong on this?
Any help would be greatly greatly appreciative. This rebuild has been a process and this just kind of dampened my day when I went to rid it and it started to have this issue.
This thing drives me nuts. Sometimes it starts right up and runs great. Sometimes it just refuses to start at all. It’s like a twisted game of Russian roulette.
As of yesterday, I can’t get it to start at all.
Battery has juice, it turns over but doesn’t start.
I recently put in a new starter and bendix but I don’t think that’s the problem as it has started and ran good since the install.
WTF?!?
Can someone please help me get this thing straightened out???
UPDATE:
I just went outside and it started right up. I let it run for two minutes. Shut it off and tried to immediately restart it. Cranks but no start. I hate this thing…
I broke the rear hub that the sprocket bolts on to on my 05 scrambler 500 HO! Anyone know we’re Inshould start on fixing it? Any help would be awesome! Thank Los everyone!!!!!!
I have a 2005 scrambler 500 4×4. I replaced the drive belt at the beginning of the year as part of typical maintenance. However, I have noticed especially throughout this summer, the clutch doesn’t seem to engage the same way as it did a few years ago. I have to increase RPM more to get the bike to move, and I cant really pull the front end up anymore. I have heard about replacing the spring with a different colored one, but I don’t know what each color stands for, and if it would help me. I am looking to get the bike to pull the front end off the ground a lot easier, and get that snappy reaction when I hit the throttle. Everyone is always doing a wheelie around me, and I struggle to even get the bike up off the ground. What would be the best route to go? I heard about clutch kits, springs, weights etc. I would like to just get a bit more performance without spending a lot of cash for now……
Hey guys my scrambler is acting weird . It only wants to start in reverse . The neutral light does not come on anymore either . Other than that it is fine . Sometimes I can get it started in neutral with the parking brake pulled in . What would be causing this? TIA

I friend just gave me a 1996 Scrambler 400 4X4 that won’t start. He said it was running a month ago, but died while his son was riding it. When we press the start button, the starter solenoid just makes a single "click" sound. We cleaned (wire brushed) all the battery/selenoid connections then tried the start button again…same results, a single "click" sound from the selenoid. He installed a new Polaris battery last year and we had it on the charger while we cleaned off all the connections, so the battery was fully charged during our test. Also, he used to be able to pull start the motor if the battery was low, but that is now froze up and we are unable to pull start the engine?
