I got a Predator 90 and for me to start the quad with the electric starter I have to squeeze the brake really hard for the light to turn on than the safety relay or switch to work. Is there an adjustment as to how sensitive the safety switch? Brakes work fine but for the light to work I have to press the brake really hard.
Soon I plan on getting back to work building my Predator which has been setting for awhile now. Just to name off a few of the thing’s I’ll be doing are as follow’s… 560 Big Bore CFM AirBox Without The Lid HMF Sport Seires Slip On Vortex Ignition CDI As far as I know those will be the only ones that should effect the jetting, so my question is…What jetting should I run in my stock carb to make all this work together right? Any ideas or suggestions is appreciated.

I have a pretty much stock 03 Polaris predator 500, haven’t really had any problems with it before until one day when I took it to go ride in woods. I unloaded it and cranked it right up no problem and put it in 1st and tried to go and it kind of bogged out. I loaded it up and took it home, then went to try it again exept this time it would not go into neutral…still will crank up fine and still bogs out. A buddy of mine said he thought transmission, I drained oil and it had no shards n looked fine, which I don’t think its trans anyway. Does anyone know what this can be? I have really been wanting to go ride and don’t have the money to take to shop to get diagnostic. ??????????????????????????????????????????
Which offers more power? And which sounds better? I’ve heard the HMF but never the Hot Seat. Which would go better with a 560 big bore kit on the Predator?
hey everyone! I have an 03 predator 500 that I just did a valve adjustment on, set everything right put it together and it runs and sounds a lot better but has a few issues. First off if Im riding and I put the clutch in the idle drops way low and it wants to stall. It seems like a fuel issue because if I just putt around with the throttle part way in it wants to cut out but it runs like a top once I crack the throttle. It also seems to be burning a bit more oil than usual. Can anyone tell me what to look into for these problems. Thank you
My son and I were recently out riding when we started driving through some loose sand. We had been riding through water, and hard gravel, black top etc.
Then he had problems getting the machine to go through sand if he stopped his forward motion. I had to tow him through the sand, but once we got back on the road, the bike drove fine. Later back at the truck I noticed that if I put a barrier in front of the wheels to form resistance, the bike tires wouldn’t move. I felt a LITTLE torque like the transmission was trying to move, but the bike wouldn’t go forward no matter how much throttle I gave it.
If I removed the resistance, the bike would move just fine. He rode the rest of the day, but always had issues when he stopped his forward momentum in sand.
Any thoughts? Could it be the transmission? Is this something to do with the CVT? Could the water have affected it?
