Bought my first Can Am in October. It’s a 2016 Outlander 650 XT in Brushed Aluminum. I’ve been riding for about 10 years now. My first machine was a 2004.5 Polaris Sportsman 500 H.O. I have since sold the Polaris after buying the Can Am. I also just picked up a 2001 Honda 400 EX, my first sport quad. I’ve been to Hatfield-McCoy twice with the Polaris, and got tired of trying to keep up with the newer Grizzlys that my friends seem to like, so I got the Can Am and am looking forward to riding that at Hatfield this year. Anyway, I’ve already picked up some useful knowledge from this site, and will most assuredly pick up more. About me, I’m from Rockland County, NY. It’s about 35 minutes north of NYC. I work as a Reactor Operator at a nuclear power plant. Since NY isn’t very ATV friendly, I do most of my riding in Pennsylvania as well as occasionally further upstate at my brother’s. I served 6 years in the US Navy as a nuclear Machinist’s Mate, with 4 years on the USS George Washington(CVN-73).

Hello from Montgomery Texas

Hey guys I’m somewhat new to this but just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Abi and I live in Texas about 45 north of Houston home of the lossing Texans. I work at a brewery/ remodeling company that my family owns. I have owned a 2008 outlander 800 for the past 3 years and recently traded it to a friend for an 800 renegade that needs a little upkeep. I hope to get some much need help in the future if I come across problems I can’t figure out on my own. Love this forum and I’m glad I finally got around to joining it.

Renegade acceleration problems

Hi this is my first time trying to post something here. I have a 2008 renegade 800 that I got a few weeks ago and I’m having some problems with it. First it seams like it accelerates by it self. When I have it on reverse or high or low it whants to go by it self. I adjusted the throttle cable by the handle bar and it helped some but when I put it in nuetrol it reves up again. What could it be? I fist though it was the shifter pulling the cable so I moved it and it did the same thing. Is there something I’m overlooking? Second problem is that when it sits for a few minutes it starts to over heat. I’ve heard that taking the thermostat out will help but I didn’t want to take things out without double checking first. I would really appreciate y’all thoughts. Thanks guys.

New here, old and new macines

I just signed up, after trading for a 10 renegade xxc and my girlfriend picking up an 16 570 xmr.

I just got out of a rzr 800 and she was coming off an eiger so we both changed up a lot.

So far I love the power difference but miss the storage that I had on the rzr. A rack for the renegade is toward the front of the list of things I need besides tires, winch/bumper. I did buy the xmr snorkel tube and it paid for itself first ride.

Does anyone have good links for an intro or faq on either machine? Answers for the obvious questions or the things to look at or be aware of.

New 2016 XMR 1000 From Va

Hello my name is Sammy and I’m from Franklin County Moon Shine Capital of the World. I’ve always had Hondas growing up and switched to Suzuki in 2012 but about a month ago made the move to Can Am. I love the machine has tons of power and a pretty good ride as well. Any and all help with good information and tricks to do to the bike will be a great help.
