carb tuning for modded 300ex

I recently installed the 330cc big bore kit on my 05 300ex. At the very top of the rpm it revs out and on decel it pops. The throttle response isn’t as crisp as before. I should also note i have a dynojet kit with uni filter, full big gun exhaust, big gun rev box, hotcam stage 1. Stock compression, stock slow jet (size 38) The spark plug is black at base of threads and on the inside walls of the threads. the porcelain is white, fire tip grey. I am fairly close to it dialed in but haven’t hit that sweet spot. I am currently running the 118 main jet (dynojet with dyno needle in stock setting) air screw 3 turns out (dynojet stock setting) the engine slightly stumbles every 5 or 6 seconds. Its close to smooth but not quite there. Im thinking going up on the main jet might clear up the popping but what perplexes me is the black carbon fouling on the inside walls of the threads and at the base. should i go down a size from stock on the slow jet?

who here has experience with the trx 300ex’s with similar mods? any help would be appreciated. the ignition is fine. its just carb tuning the big bore.

Honda TRX Running problems

Hi I have a TRX 350 (I think) 1987. It starts on the button now I’ve put a new spark plug in although is very noisy. It runs for about 10 mins and then die’s. Then it wont restart for sometime. I originally thought it may be the fuel pump but this is working fine. Could it be an electrical problem or maybe something silly that I have overlooked?

1984 TRX200 Exhaust options…ATC200 Possibly?

So of all the things I need to fix on my old crusty monster, I think the exhaust is moving up the list. The gasket at the head is non-existent. The packing at the first exhaust clamp is out to lunch, which makes for a great calf warmer with all the hot exhaust leaking…and I am sure*if I got those leaks fixed I would discover the muffler isn’t much better. All the heat shields are missing with bolts broke off in the mounting points where they should be. I have been looking at parts and pieces on eBay, and other than seals, I am looking at used OEM pieces. Well, I already have a 30 year old exhaust that was free, so I don’t really want to pay for one. There aren’t any aftermarket options I have found. Then the light bulb moment…what about the exhaust from a 1984ish ATC200? I can find exhausts on eBay that are listed for 1982-1984 atc200. Now this question is based off the possibly incorrect assumption that mechanically my rig is an ATC200 from the engine back. If that is correct, I could have a completley new exhaust for not much more than band-aiding my 30 year old exhaust up, and still possibly needing a muffler. Anyone have any thoughts or experience with this?
