hello from georgia

Hello my name is Johnathon Boyette but call me Johnboy I have recently bought a 2014 grizzly 700 and love it. It has exceeded my expectations with the power and ability in the mud with stock tires but the most amazing thing was the ride it literly glides like a cadilac. I love turning wrenches and normally wouldn’t buy new but I knew this was something I was going to keep for years to come and maintenance is the life of a bike.my first mods will be 28 in zillas and moose front and rear and would love any input for a new grizzly owner and thanks for your time.

Hello from Ohio

I just made a deal on a 14 Grizzly 550 EPS today. Hoping to be picking it up next week sometime. I have been trolling on this forum for several weeks now trying to decide between the Griz and a Polaris 570 SP. I finally decided on the Griz mostly due to the superior fit and finish and reputation for dependability. I can’t wait to get it in my garage and am looking forward to being an active member here!

Hello

Hello everyone,I’m a new member from NW Wi,I just got a 2013 550 Grizzly Realtee. I upgraded from my 96 Kodiak that I had forever.
Right now I’m Turkey hunting with it and getting used to it,quite a change from the Kodiak. But I’m loving it so far, gonna put some more miles on her tomorrow.

new here, break in tips?

Ive been posting here for awhile, finally sold my 2011 Rancher, got me a new 2013 700 eps.

this is my 3rd atv but my biggest baby yet.
any tips on break in?
Also, im a little cautious here, why does it seem like the motor bogs at first?

meaning, its idling and u blip the throttle and it doesnt feel as tuned or fine sounding as i expected. it sounds like its bogging almost.

I am a new member from Saskatchewan Canada just want to say hello everyone. I just joined the forum and am looking around and finding lots of useful tips as I am new to the atv world. been a Yamaha fan for years with the snowmachines and street bikes. Bought a 2014 grizzly 700 EPS in the fall and love it. It worked great all winter with the snow plow on it. Now that summer is coming hoping to get some miles on it. Thanks for letting me join the forum

1st time GRIZZLY owner –

Hey guys, I’m John – from Senoia, GA.

A few weeks back I traded a 17′ LOWE (w/a 90hp Yamaha Jet Drive) for an ’03 GRIZZLY. – I’m currently working on the GRIZZLY. The previous owner didn’t respect it in any way what so ever!! – he left it outdoors, uncovered and untouched for the last 5-6 years. It’s got 1200 original miles on it.

I’ve taken the entire quad apart to clean and inspect it. It was covered in ‘mold’. It was everywhere. Horrible actually.

But other than that, the only other issues were the carb being junked up, the right rear axle boot ripped and the very rear of the frame is RUSTED pretty bad from sitting with water and trash stuck in the engine/differential guard.

I cleaned all the jets in the carb and it starts up nice, however, I believe it’s got a vacuum leak. it’ll ‘pop’ back at idle and die — anything over idle it sounds as it should.

I haven’t had the chance to ride it because, after I cleaned the jets – I was swapping the axle, and while attempting to get the knuckle off of the original axle – the bearing came apart.

That just happened on Saturday, so I’ve got to call around and see if I can get a bearing.

Thanks guys, I’ll be posting some pics as soon as I can get it together.

I am afraid I’m going to have issues with the carb, for some reason I can just ‘feel’ it. I’ve rebuild lots of carbs in my day, however, this one I cant figure out where the lines go.

The carb has been taken apart in the past. So Im dealing with that- (there were three vacuum lines not connected when I started digging into it) I’m looking for a good schematic, but haven’t found one yet. And I haven’t done a lot of ‘searching’ here -you know life gets in the way.

Thanks again everyone – you guys make a really nice forum! –
