sick baby

Guys and gals, I first of all want to thank everyone for at least reading this. I have a 2001 Big Bear 400 that is sick and I can’t figure out what is wrong with it. Here is the problem:

When accelerating it spits, sputters, and acts like it is starving for fuel. Idles fine. No smoke at all. Plug carbon is normal…..meaning its not black (rich) or white (lean). Once you get up to speed and try to maintain it, it still spits and sputters. I can take the throttle and work it (meaning let off and give it gas again over and over) and it will somewhat run normal for a few seconds, but its right back to spit and sputter.

What I’ve done:

When I got this wheeler it had no carb on it. did my research and bought one. Installed it along with a new throttle cable and new choke cable. It had been sitting for about 2 years with just a cup over the intake. Installed a fuel filter inline and cleaned the tank good. replaced fuel pidcock valve.

Adjusted the valves per Yamaha specs. I’ve run several cans of fuel cleaner through it. noticed that the rubber was harder than normal on the intake, so i tested the "leaking intake" theory by putting silicone around the carb to seal it up. No difference. I’ve read several forums on correct carb adjustment and did the procedure to mine. After adjusting it per other forums still no change.

If anyone has any help on this it would be very greatly appriciated. This wheeler belonged to my best friend’s dad. He willed it to me after his death and its important to me to get it running right. Again thanks in advance for the help!

Squatting

I have a 96 kodiak I just use to hunt. A year ago it started squatting bad and staying squatted, I can lift up on rack and it come back up. I ordered a bronco shock to replace it it didnt help. I pulled swing arm checked bearing they felt fine. Put it back same problem. So I sent shock back and talked to them they just sent a new shock. Put it on same problem have to pick it up to return to ride heigth. So i ordered new bearings didnt figure it fix it but it was last thing. Put new bearing and races in and it fixed issue I thought rode it around short trips around the house and in woods problem gone rode it to get mail next morning squatted again. Rear U-joint good slip splines moving freely. Swing arm moves freely without shock attached I dont know what else it could be?

Thanks

Fuel line help?

So I was loading my 250 bruin in my horse trailer…come back a few minutes later and smell gas! Some how fuel line got unhooked? For the life of me I can not see where to goes back in though!!! I feel so blind. It’s only letting me upload one pic at a time from my phone but hopefully someone can point it out for me. I’m usually not this dumb about this stuff but I think my brain is so fried from moving 8 hours.
