big bear reverse shifter problems
So having diagnosed a reverse sensor faulty, I am on to fixing the annoying problem of my H L R lever being very difficult to move from reverse back to High.
If the engine is not running, it moves real easy, but if the engine is running, the lever is very stiff to move from reverse.
I have checked that the cable is adjusted correctly so that the clevis pin lines up with the hole in the shift mechanism. But it seems to be the shift mechanism in the transmission that is stiff.
Any help appreciated.
thanks

1989 bigbear 350 reverse light (sensor fail?)
I’ve recently replaced the handbrake cable on my 1989 350 BB and took it for a test ride. It changed gear fine and selected H, L and Rev fine – except when I went out of reverse back to H, the "reverse" light stayed on. And when I shifted into Neutral, the Reverse light stayed on, and Neutral light didn’t come on. Of course this meant, when I switched the engine off, the damn thing wouldn’t start again.
So I tried to trace any probs with the wiring, using the japanese manual, it seems to point to faulty reverse sensor. So I took it out of the casing. If I touch the plunger on the sensor on the engine casing, the Reverse light goes off and the neutral light comes on.
Does this indicate the reverse sensor is faulty?
thanks in advance.
2007 yamaha Big Bear 400 Clutch question
Thanks,

Quick clutch question
This question is not about a Yamaha, but a Kawasaki Bayou 300, a 98.
It’s hard to find the right words to describe the problem.
When it is running in neutral, and you put it in gear, it wants to just go….. normally when you put it in gear, you would have to rev it up to make it go. Now it seems like the clutch is always applied? I changed the one way bearing, but that wasn’t the problem.
I had the centrifugal clutch out and it looks good, like there is nothing wrong with it, The springs move freely and are not weak.
The way I understand it, is that when you rev the motor, the centrifugal clutch expands, and that’s what makes the machine go. So, theoretically, if it just goes and when you come up to a stop, it will chug and die. Just like if you are in a car and you don’t push in the clutch.
Do I have a bad centrifugal clutch?
