I have had this quad for 30 years now. I began taking it apart to clean it up and paint it eight years ago, it has been sitting since. Now I am trying to get it up and running again. I bought a brand new battery and hooked it up when I turned the key on I had no lights or rather nothing happening at all. I tested the battery and checked numerous areas for power and there were several places with power including the battery. The one area I do not have power is, near the front end. I have a plug that isn’t connected, please see attached photo. I have no other wires that are just hanging out there. A friend used a paper clip on the one plug that isnt attached to anything in the middle of the photo (white) and when he did this the lights came on by the ignition and the starter kept clicking over like the quad would normally try to start, which was a nice sound to hear. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks
I have a 1986 trx350 with a seized motor and a loose 1986 trx250 engine that I got for basically free. It turns over. Was hoping/wondering I could use parts or swap the heads/cylinders to make the 350 whole again. Obviously I have to change timing chain and guides as well. I know some of the experts here will know. Thank you in advance.
Hi my 2001 TRX 350 has been running very rough back firing and not taking throttle .
I was told earlier this year carburetor is very worn and would not idle it just meant restarting every time I had to stop to open a gate.
I’ve fitted a new carb but apart from curing the idling problem it runs the same as before.
It will rev hard when standing still but if I try opening it up on the road it dies and even stops sometimes .
I’m doing a frame up build of a 2003 400ex. It has a rebuilt bottom end and no top end…I’m also trying to get my hands on a 2005 for parts that has a complete engine.
That being said, I have money to spend and time to do the work. This is my first quad build, taking a break from cars so I have a decent mechanical background and will be doing everything myself. The question is, what do I do?
I’m not racing, this will be trail ridden. I’m thinking big bore kit, 440 maybe seeing as I’m looking more for torque that top end (assuming the larger bores = torque like in other applications?)
So what’s the best path to take? I’m hoping to get the 05 to have reverse, but didn’t miss that when I had a banshee. 440? What pipe and muffler, will the stock header do with an aftermarket muffler? Uni-filter or those air box delete kits?
A couple weeks ago my 07 trx400ex started slipping from gear and at first I thought I was in neutral until I shifted down and I was in 3rd. The next time it happened, it was off the start and the quad came to a stop and died. I started it back up and it was in reverse and would not come out of reverse so I rode it home. I let it sit in the garage for a few days, when it came time to move it, I was able to click into neutral. So I started it, shifted to 1st then a full click up goes to neutral, then 3rd and 4th 5th and I was riding in 3rd around the yard and it haulted and dropped into reverse. And when I click out of reverse it simply doesn’t move. Please help.

Hey guys, new guy here from WV right in the middle of Hatfield McCoy Trail country. I recently traded for an 01 300EX and it’s not getting any spark. I’ve replaced the coil, the cdi box, kill switch, key switch, tested the stator (passed with flying colors, .4 ohms at 68 degrees), tested the magnetic pickup (319 ohms of resistance, pretty sure its a pass from what I’ve read), checked/traced every single wire on the bike and still cannot get any power to my cdi. I can officially say a bike has me stumped for the first time in my life. Nothing makes sense on it. I know it has to be something simple thats staring me right in the face so I’m hoping someone on here can chime in and offer up an opinion. Thanks in advance.
I just purchased a stock2009 trx700xx and I was looking to hook it up a little bit.
First, I’m wondering what aftermarket exhaust would increase performance the most? I had both a yo shi and pro circuit pipes on my 400 and 450r that i liked a lot but I can’t seem to find those brands for this quad. Also, since this is a fuel injected quad, what computer programmers do you guys reccomend?
Next, I’d like to replace the stock tires but choices are slim for the 11 inch rear rims. Are there any rim options that would allow me to run 10 inch rims with the stock offset? I have a set of 20 inch razor 2s that I’d like to use.
Last question, what handlebar setup is everybody running on this thing. The stock bars feel weird so I’d like to upgrade to something thicker and better feeling, maybe even a anti vibe setup.
If anyone has any other suggestions I’d be glade to here them. I sold my 400ex and 450r last summer and decided to pull the trigger on this 700. I know little about what works for this thing.
Hey guys have any of you flipped the wheels to give you mor side to side clearance? It seems to change about an inch and a half on both sides. I’m just looking to do this on the fronts. Thanks
