Okay so I’m fixing this ATV up for some guys on a farm and they ran the thing with a rusted tank and the fuel filter got so plugged up to the point it wouldn’t suck any gas. So we did the Electrolytic Rust removal and made it look like new and bought a new fuel filter. It also has a new air filter.
At first it had a problem where it would rev on it’s own and wouldn’t come back all the way down to idle but now I’ve fixed that playing with the a/f mixture screw and it comes right back down to idle just fine. We bought a new spark plug and threw that in and fired right up. but we have one slight problem where the choke doesn’t seem to idle when it is on. It will fire once like it wants to start but it doesn’t keep running. The only way you can keep it running with the choke ON is if you keep giving it half-full throttle and it will blow smoke and sound like garbage. But it idles just fine and has no problem when the choke is off. It is weird I have the opposite of what people have where it only runs with the choke ON instead. Our 2003 Honda Foreman 450 idles with just higher revs and will sit with it on all it wants, but this four-wheeler won’t even run with the choke on? Help is much appreciated! Thanks!
I have a 96 TRX 300ex and the switches for the lights have failed. I can’t seem to find a harness that specifically states ’96’ so my questions is, what other year switch/harness will work on my bike? Do they make rebuild kits?
Thanks in advance.
I have a 2012 trx250x and recently when I was riding it loss compression and started singing. Once I stopped it just kept singing in the head, but It regained compression. I took the head and cylinder off it and the piston and rings looked fine but at the top of my cylinder their was a 3mm dark line on the inside. Everything else looks good but should I just bore the cylinder get a new piston and rings or just tear the engine apart to see if anything is messed up in their.
I have an 07 400ex and looking to switch out the clutch lever and perch and do the parking brake delete. What will I need to do with the electrical switch that’s on the stock assembly? What does that switch actually control? Can hear it click when the clutch lever is pulled.
Hello need some advice what I have is a 2000 400ex that was rebuilt by a shop it was stock they bored it to the next size over and replaced the valves and seals I have roughly 30 hrs on bike after rebuild and timing chain stretched so I replaced it and when I did I change oil at the same time and went with a 10 40 synthetic iv always ran gn4 before this .now about an hr into the ride after this the bike is smoking like crazy I actually had to add a quart and a half to get it back home. I couldn’t imagine a ring burning up so I put a compression test on it and it was reading 175-180 psi. What could have went wrong??? The synthetic?? Or could valve seal cause this much oil burning as I did notice when I pulled caps to adjust valves I had a puddle of oil sitting in valley of the left exsaughst valve is this normal??thanks in advance for any help
hello guys i just got a like really good shape 2002 honda400ex picked it up for a pretty good price
so anyways i was has very happy till i rode it
i can not get it to do a wheelie in any gear
its has 15tooth on front and 38 sprocket on back it has 22x11x9 tires on the back
this Honda is stock just a k/n air filter on it
when i am going down the road it is very fast it really runs good ay all speeds
but for power i would not drive it around my friends its got not much bottom end
i was thinking of getting a 14 front sprocket for it first and see what happens
i have seen a site where they are modding the stock muffler i might do that right not its real quiet
i really like Honda but you think it would have enof power to pull the wheels off the ground in first gear
