I have an opportunity to pick up a 2007 400EX engine for what I think is a great deal. The problem is, it’s out of the quad so I can’t hear it run. What are some things to look for before buying or would you guys avoid this altogether? Even the most basic tips would help. I’m kind of new to this…
05 trx500 rubicon problems
Hi everybody. I’m new here, and having some issues. I have a 05 TRX500 rubicon with the hondamatic trans. I changed the oil the other day, made sure it was full, then started it up to run for a bit. I shut it off after about a minute, rechecked the oil to make sure it was full, and it was good to go. So I got on, started it up, went in to reverse no problem, backed it out of the shop, and then put it in drive. I noticed when it went to drive, the gear position indicator went to just 2 bars on the screen. It would not show that I was in drive. So I gave it a little gas and felt it click into gear, but the gear position didn’t change. I started out the driveway and it wouldn’t shift out of first. I tried d1, d2, and esp, and none of them will shift or change the gear position indicator. So I got to reading around on the net and learned how to do the code retrieval. It flashed 10 times. I can’t find anything that tells me what a code 10 is, or what could possibly be the problem. If anyone has any idea what could be wrong the help would be appreciated.

trx350fm6 350- rancher will not go into gear
the bike will run fine. pulled it into the shed and the next time got it out it would not go into gear. the indicator lights show that it is out of neutral and even if we put into reverse we get an indicator. both drive shafts turn freely as if it is in neutral. Not sure how to start on this ? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Will not start, have gas and spark
I have a 2002 TRX 250EX which has been running well for the year I have had it. My son said it was running hot and then it died. Will not start now. Cranks over well, and seems to have a strong spark. Carburetor checks out OK, actually cleaner than I expected. Plug wire was pulled out of boot, but that has been repaired. Also tried an aftermarket coil, but spark seems the same with either coil. Is it possible to have a good spark, but the spark timing be off? How do you adjust the spark timing on this engine? I have seen several posts on how to verify spark timing, but none on how to adjust it. Could the problem be with the Stator or Pulse Generator? I still need to do a compression test and check valve gap. But a hand over the intake, a finger over the spark plug hole, and a hand over the exhaust tell me that the valves and piston are doing their job reasonably. Oil consumption has been very little, but it was low when the problems started.
