Having an issue with my clutch. I pulled my engine and while doing this the clutch lifter arm turned all the way around and became disengaged from the lifter piece (i thought). I pulled the case cover and re-engaged the arm onto the lifter piece. the clutch will not disengage when the lever is pulled. Also, the center lifter piece in the middle of the clutch moves in and out freely. Should there be tension on the lifter piece?
I recently picked up a new quad and the starter is bad, and I tried to read the Vin number to verify the year so can order the proper part but the frame seems to have been after market powder coat. Anyone help me figure this out?

Hey yall I’m new to the forum. I know there is a bunch of knowledge being passed around here so maybe yall can help me out. I have a 2013 trx500. It won’t shift at all. Cranks up fine but the buttons on the handle bar dont do anything. Already replaced the angle sensor and cleaned the shift motor and checked the fuses. What gives?! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
So I stumbled across this on cl. Looks like out needs some work and parts. I’ve found a place in my town that has used 450er/r parts and it looks like I can probably get the bike and everything I need for under $2200. I may be able to talk my wife in to this. Just seeing what you guys think.
"This is a 2008 Honda TRX450ER four stroke ATV. Lots of recent service! It has;
-HRC Kit
-Two Brothers muffler
-Pro Taper 1 1/8" bars with riser
-Oregon OHV permit good through 3/2017
-Kick start kit
The bike just had the valves adjusted, carburetor cleaned and rejetted, engine oil and filter changed, transmission oil changed, new air filter installed, new tie rod installed, and brake fluid flushed.
This quad needs a new crankcase. It is broken at the starter gear on one side(JB welded), and at the shift spindle on the other. While riding the chain came off of the rear sprocket and wadded up on the front sprocket hitting the shift rod/spindle and breaking the case. It ran excellent before the case broke. The bike does not hold motor oil so it should not be started before the case is fixed. The starter and associated wiring has been removed as well as the battery."
Ok, so here it is… i just got it today. It has been sitting for some time. I got it to start and idle within 3 kicks. I am happy about that. The chain broke on the prev owner and it broke the cover. When i started the quad, oil did NOT come out of here. Is it supposed to? I can see where it looks like it was fixed before with some JB weld maybe? Is this just a cover or is this part of the side case?
I just now bought a xrs only exh. For my 14′ 400x . Its being shipped now but I was wondering if anyone has run or seen this exhaust before? I hear xrs only is a very reputable company and who better to go with than them. But i can’t find anyone that used it. Thanks everyone!
